The gameplay is very similar to ARK but many of the more frustrating elements have been reduced or eliminated, such as the whole sleep-taming process replaced by a simple "throw sphere at weakened enemy" and Pals do not experience permadeath. Also no Pal inventories to manage, thankfully. Pals at base are immediately far more useful and productive than anything I saw in 50 hours of ARK. I've gotten over 100 hours of enjoyment from Palworld and will likely return for more when additional content is added. Very much worth the price.

Edit: Gameplay after Feybreak update has large improvements and the new areas and pals are great. Having a lot of fun and excited to see where the game goes from here.

Fast paced action that scratches much of the same itch of rocket league without the same sense of commitment or practice required to have fun. Much better with friends since there are effectively no consequences for abandoning matches. And it's free to play.

Smooth, responsive gameplay and charming characters. Surprisingly large build diversity. A very polished game.

Ended my friendship with my roommate and my brother. Would do again.
