I like the game because I like persona 3 (and this is a good remake of persona 3) but ATLUS had 14-15 years to listen to the arguments over whether or not P3FES or P3P was the definitive version of the game, and they decided to remake base P3 with some additions from FES and P3P P3P but in 3D instead of actually combining the two with a modern upgrade to make a -definitive- Persona 3

The game is already $69.99 for a remake of a PS2/PSP game with content in that PS2 game being sold as DLC after the fact.
I don't even care to talk about the missing FEMC route from portable since it's never happening but c'mon, The Answer should be free when it releases, the MC should be able to wield every weapon type (again), and I should've been able to join the photography club instead of art, or the kendo club instead of track
most petty complaint i have though is that the opening cutscene is handled infinitely better in FES and sets a much better tone but reload is more tonally in line with the movies anyways

who cares about steam reviews, I wasted my time writing this, buy this on sale if you wanna play it, there's never going to be a 'best version' of this game anyways and Reload is easily the most accessible and mechanically polished. I'm still going to end up buying The Answer because I have no self control and hate having money

this game has made me able to tolerate the existence of rathalos
rathians of all varieties can still burn in monstie hell though

i'll be honest i didn't care about this game at all and thought it was just some PS5 filler game until I played it
it's really fun and while it's not the best bug blaster on the market, it's pretty close
i like doing blitz commands to call in airstrikes on my teammates

e: the filipinos have returned i can rate things positively again

unlike the original i had to try and play this game three times to force myself through it
land sections suck most of the fun out of the game

clutch stagger and tenderize make me ): but G rank makes me :)

hilariously bad port, even after going through the wringer of fixes it still was barely playable
if volition ever climbs out of their grave to release that patch though, that would be rad

i love the game but UI/UX in menus is rough and the lack of a lobby system, as well as online-only rendering the game unplayable due to server issues is awful
worth $40? yeah, once it becomes playable without matchmaking screwing it all up

SBZ, give us lobbies back, and please just give us the option of playing p2p if we're playing with people on the same platform

e: updates 1-3 are a good step in the right direction in regards to QoL and the meta but still no lobby system and online only is still unstable around update releases (likely due to server load)
also the prices for DLC are a scam, $10 should get you the heist and weapons and it should actually be like $8

e2: just play PDTH it's cheaper and actually has replayability

usually i just write joke reviews because who the hell is gonna read a steam review but i've played this game for far too long and though i have many good memories from growing up with it, i'm glad it's finally over and i can say goodbye forever

one down (DSOD nowadays) is the antithesis of fun and i will never forgive overkill for putting it in the game
they're never gonna fix fade and hostage rescue teams are they
hopefully starbreeze isn't going to revive this dead game for a third time
2016 was the peak and while everything after border crossing is good it's just not the same

PD:TH is a better game but 2 is still pretty fun on death wish and below and it's not like you have choices when it comes to good coop games anyways
payday 3 looks really good though despite the antics of Starbreeze/Deep Silver so we'll see how things play out (e: it didn't)
