It's not a bad game, and it's not a great game. It's a good game.

Graphically, the game is amazing. The land just looks great. The view distance is high, and the vertical depth of the surroundings is impressive. The world is very immersive feeling.

As for a harvesting/crafting game, it ticks all the right boxes. Harvesting feels good, and crafting is relatively fun and easy at first. Overtime, it gets very repetitive and requires an insane amount of harvesting/combines to max out all of the crafting skills. Unfortunately, the problem there is that it doesn't feel like you are rewarded for putting all that effort in to maxing a crafting skill. There needs to be a carrot at the end of that line worth obtaining.

In-game money is an issue. Everything has to be repaired all the time, and that cost, yet no NPCs in the game buy anything from you. You get some coin from breaking drops apart, running quests, etc, but the main source of making money in game is by selling to other players via the auction house.

The problem is that there is no replayability in this game. No one will ever want to play the game from level 1 again because not only can you be every build on one character, but it's an insane grind to get back to max level again. There's literally no benefit to ever playing another character. It's a one and done experience. The issue there is that all those crafting combines you do are pretty much not able to be sold on the auction house because no one will ever be low to mid level to need your crafted items in the first place. As soon as most people on your server have reached max level, that's it. All crafted gear below max level is trash. You can not sell it. So, crafting ends up being just something you use for you. That's a hard pill to swallow when it takes extreme effort to max those crafting skills out in the first place.

The game play is fun if not a bit repetitive, but that's how all MMORPGs are made. There's honestly no such thing as a non-repetitive MMORPG.

I think the biggest issue with New World is going to be end-game content. There just isn't much there, and every time Amazon puts more out, the userbase is going to eat it up fast and ask for seconds. The biggest issue there is the fact that this is a Pay Once Play Free Forever game model. Amazon literally has no incentive to keep making fresh new content for this game. All of the people that keep getting upset with bugs in the game and leaving bad reviews are literally adding another notch to the list of reasons why Amazon will probably end up abandoning any future development for this game. They aren't making anything off of creating the new content, and every bad review just helps push potential new buyers away from buying the game. So, literally, Amazon is in a lose lose situation with New World.

So, why did I give New World a Yes for recommending the game? Quite simply, I gave it a Yes because it is a fun game and well worth the one time purchase fee. I got my money's worth out of it and then some.

Is the game buggy? Yes.
Does the game have end-game issues? Yes.
Is the game grindy? Yes.
Does the game get old an repetitive over time? Yes.

But, it was a lot of fun for a few months, and that was worth the price of admission.

This game is truly amazing. It would be awesome to have this game in an EverQuest world where me and 50 of my friends can play the game on our own private server. This is the future of MMORPGs.

I am changing my review of the game at this time because the last update made the game playable.

I think $19 is too much for the game right now, but I do think it is a fun game. I see potential for this game over time.

I absolutely love this game!

I have been playing MMORPGs like Everquest for the past 17 years, so I am a MMORPG addict.

If you like playing with a gamepad, this is the MMO for you.

**** Update June 1st, 2016 ****
I just wanted to make an update to the review.

It's June 1st, and I still am enjoying Tree of Savior. I think the thing I enjoy the most about the game is I just find it relaxing to kill tons of mobs. Mindless mob destruction is fun to me lol.

Here are some notes about the game that I have learned while playing it.
1. Meet people to play the game with outside of the game on the forums. You will not have the ability to talk in the global channel (Shout or /y) until you are level 40 and you have to buy "megaphones" for each thing you say in it. Because of this, the game is very anti-social. Don't expect to make friends in-game easily.

2. You will screw up your first character's build. Hell you might screw your second or third even. The stat points you set everytime you level can NOT be adjusted later on, and they make a HUGE difference in how your character plays. There are builds on the interwebs to help you. Use google.

3. The level of difficulty to kill mobs inside the instanced dungeons is VERY HIGH compared to everything else you will do in the game. You will likely be completely shocked at how little damage you do when you go in an instanced dungeon for the first time at level 50 compared to what you did everywhere else up to this point. It's shocking to say the least.

Would it have bought the game again knowing what I know now? Yes. It's a fun game.

I am not impressed with this game in the least bit. Some may find it interesting, but I was dissapointed with the lack luster graphics, slow and clunky gameplay.

I love this game. Seriously. LOVE THIS GAME!

I am a fan of old school fantasy turn-based RPGs like Pool of Radiance. I have been looking for an up to date game like that, and Divinity: Original Sin has delivered 100%.

I have played very, very little of this game so far. But, there is a reason for that. I loaded the game up with great excitement because I was a HUGE FAN of Transport Tycoon back in the day. As soon as I got this game loaded up and playing, I was horrified to find that the user interface was very clunky.

This game has potential, but it needs a LOT of work to bring it up to the standards of what simulation fans expect of a game in this day and age. It feels very antiquated (sp?). I wanted to like this game so badly.

I play this game off and on every so often. It's one of those fun little games that you can pick up and play at anytime.
