3.5 hrs on record
Its sad that they launch a game that isnt even close to being ready. I dont get people saying that they cant wait for the next turn. Its shallow and the maps are smaller than they should be, there aren't any big maps at all, with standard being the biggest available (it's quite small).
The eras are way too short, you blink and find yourself in the next one already.
Even on the slowest time setting, marathon, time passes very quickly.
I suppose the reason Firaxis made the game like this is to accomodate gen z's 2 second attention span.

However, fans of the Civilization series love a good, long game, and whoever doesn't can always use the settings to play a shorter game.
The settings in this game are essentially nonexistent.

Paying 100 dollars for this game just feels like a robbery at the moment.
Ive spent several thousands of hours playing Civ, and even though Civ 6 was also limited at launch, this is an all-time low.

I was really looking forward to this game for months, and I'm disappointed that I have to say this entry in my usually beloved franchise is all about the money.

I wont even get into the UI since thats been explained by everybody else.
I feel like people recommending this game have either been paid off by the publisher or never played a single game of the Civilization series before.

I still believe this game has potential, but that potential will only be reached after several DLCs which will take years to come out and take even more of our money.

Since this seems to be Firaxis' plan, I advise you to steer clear of this game. Utter disappointment.
