Edit: July 2019:

Sandstorm continues to be my most often played game. The mixture of high-speed yet punishingly lethal gameplay is still unique and oh so satisfying. Don't mind the lack of hit-markers, cross-hairs, mini-maps, or kill notifications. Seeing the blood spray from that headshot never felt so good. Admittedly there are some bugs and optimization issues, but the same could be said for most UE4 titles. The developers genuinely care about supporting the product both through additional content and bug fixes/optimization. Rest assured that you'll have years of free content even without including the modding community.

Insurgency: Sandstorm is a true successor to Insurgency and builds upon the former extensively. I'm excited to see what the next few years have in store for this title.

Thief is a huge letdown for fans of the original series. Thief is a thief game in name only. The gameplay is incredibly easy for a stealth game. In the originals, guards would spot you from across entire rooms, in Thief (on the hardest difficulty) I was able to walk to the side of someone, easily within their peripheral vision in a well-lit room, and was not seen. I do like the amount of options they give for changing the game to suit your own style, but a lot more needed to be done to this game to be worthy of the originals.
