The game might lack a solid story, but it makes up for it in its movement mechanics, as this makes the game fun. But some of them can be a bit tricky to use, but when you understand them then is the movement very fluent.
The low polygon graphics also works very well, it does feel like an N64 game and have all the charms of one.
The exploration was a bit tricky for me to begin with, as a lot of doors lead to rooms with +3 doors in them, but luckily a map power-up has been added which helps a ton to get the lay of an area.

For the movement abilities alone I feel this is a must-play if you are into 3D platformers. However, the combat is very lacking and there are almost no bosses.

I might be a major outlier, but I have enjoyed how D4 handles controller support so much that using a controller is my preferred method of playing ARPGs. Using the controller works ok, BUT the controller is hard to use in menus; there are times when I have a talk with someone, and I can still move in the world with the left stick and, therefore, have to use the awkward right stick cursor to click on options. But the worst offender is that it is impossible to change the button layout... I follow the instructions, but it either removes all the buttons for the whole layout or adds the default layout... it does NOT make the chance I am asking it to.
This really breaks the enjoyment for me from the very start. I hope it gets fixed because I believe this is an amazing game and I do want to enjoy it.

Everything goes dark, and you die.

I am personally not a fan of horror games, but this Visual Novel had an interesting premise, so as a goof, I decided to play it on Halloween night. I finished it that same night and absolutely loved it from start to finish!
It was so good that I decided the next day to do a new game and go for some of the different endings, and now I feel compelled to do all the almost 100 achievements, just to see the difference in every outcome.

For a Visual Novel, it is excellent and very much worth to try out.

I was growing up with and endlessly playing the 3rd game of the original games, and this game sent me back to my childhood. It is almost exactly the same, just with a grander story and much better graphics!
I can highly recommend it, I hope they make another, and we will get it on PC as well.

For the PC port itself, it ran pretty smoothly, but the game crashed 2 times for me, luckily the game saves often, so no progress was ever lost.

I expected a chill and cute story-based game about three kids getting in trouble.
Was instead thrown into an intensely emotional story about family, friendship, and mystery!
I can only recommend checking this title out.

Very short version:
If you love 2D platformers then is this game a must have! Probably the best platformer we will get in 2015.

Short version:
Beautiful visuals (graphics and animation)
Amazing music
Sad story (unless you have a frozen heart)
Fun 2D platformer gameplay
Hard game but not unfair

Long version:
There have always been a question about if games would ever reach a point where we can call it “art” (like movies are a work of art), but this game would be the kind I would show if such a talk should ever happen as it have everything there makes a game amazing: Amazing visuals, a good soundtrack of very talented people and a sad story to follow up on (there was moments where I almost shed a tear or just felt very sad about the characters in the story), all this boils down to a very amazing experience and you want to figure out how it all turns out.

But not only is the game’s presentation amazing but the gameplay itself is very fun! The game slowly gives you power-ups there opens up the map to find secrets or other power-ups that you were not able to reach, which will make you go back to get them all and explore areas that you already had visited before. And even better is that even though you are getting a lot of power-ups then doesn’t it feel hard to execute them (mouse and keyboard) which makes it smooth to play. I was only troubled when I did a double jump instead of a wall jump at times but it didn’t happen too often.

One thing to notice is this game is hard! Expect to die a lot! But with that said is the game not unfair as it having a very clever use of save points. You can at any time use energy (your attack resource) to create a save point so when you die will you return to this point. So if you reach a area there looks hard or you just got through a difficult segment then is it easy to just place a save point. The system also gives amazing exit points as you can just place down a save point and then close the game and return later.

Overall will I say this is probably one of the best 2D platformers ever made and is a must buy if you are a big fan of 2D platformers! Do not miss out on this amazing game!
