Highly taxxing on a computer. If you dont have a recent build then youll be having input delay, oil gliding, and slidshow action.

TL:DR Dont go for this unless you have a decent computer from a recent age. Win7 dies here.

Honestly.... A bit of a pain.
Getting the game going by itself is a chore. Theres no singleplayer, and setting up a server is difficult at its best. I Cant figure it out. Watching videos on the subject is like to confuse more then to help. This could Greatly be aliviated with a simple "Create Server" button with options on how youd like to set it up, or simply a single player.

As of yet, i still havent managed to even play the game. Connecting to rendom servers only to be booted, unable to connect due to my version being updated more then thires, and a host of other issues means i just simply havent an hands on game time.

Bought this such a long time ago... yet no luck....

Amazing survival game with a TON of potential... but its permlocked to a singleplayer experiance.
I get that this game is meant to be a sole survivor kinda deal... and its great at that till you see it all...but honestly it wouldnt be that hard to add a peer2peer co-op. Nothing mmo huge, like a 2-4 player max lobby kinda deal.

The devs kinda dangled co-op over the heads of the community, splitting it... then just decided to flat out cut any future attempts to add co-op. The community is now alot of singleplayer enthusiasts basicly voicing why they think that was a good idea and why anyone who wants co-op is wrong, instead of being humble about it.

Overall its a great game for solo survival in a terrifying alien ocean. Food, water, and a story that makes you want to keep going into the worst of places to see more. But once youve seen it all, itd be cool to just pull in a pal and make the Grand Reef your shopping mall.

TL:DR
Great game if you enjoy playing alone. Not everyone does, but this one isnt bad.

Bad game if you dislike playing alone due to crippling lonelyness and eventual bordom where you eventually spend hours digging a pit and spawning in enemies to act as your Fishtank. Better off watching this on some youtubers channel then actually buying it yourself.

TIME FOR STEEP
TIME FOR SLEEP
Been playing since CBT in the playstation, and then decided to try it here. Console is MUCH better.... pc controls are terrible.

FIrst off, its a snowboarding game. Something ive missed heavily since the SSX games. The SSX reboot was NOT ssx, it was SSSUrvival. they should just reboot 3 and be done with it. Offtopic but anyway....

MOSTLY CONS:

As a snowboarding game, its pretty alright. Wingsuit is alot funner then i thought it would be. Skiis feel off, but enjoyable... Paragliding is fun as long as you dont do the missions for it.

My mains issues?
Anything thats not snow, even if you just stand on it sometimes, "burns" you till you KO. Its aggrivating in higher end mission, more on that in a sec...

Trick controls are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ abhorrent and need to be condemned and put down. 98% of the time, you dont jump. and if you DO jump, 98% of THOSE times, you cant do any spins or flips.... so you just grab your board and look like a tart.

Missons... At first they are fun, simple a few are a challenge but are clearly do-able.... then you get passed that. Theres a few missions "LOOKING AT YOU MOSTLY 'BELIVE'" That are simply BEYOND INSANLTY ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ MENTALY DIFFICULT. Large sections of them are rock with rediculous angles so you cant jump over it, forcing you to skate over them. As was previously mentioned... touching "notsnow" appears to burn you till you KO and crash, wasting large ammounts of your time as you tumble down the damn hill. "Believe" Is one such, but also adds in super long falls you have a 1% chance of surviving, i was literaly forced to find a ledge to throw myself off of, so i could flip myself to smash my head on a passing rock forcing me into KO state to get passed a large section of boulders in the way of the run. My limp body got gold. Thats not challenging. watching my corpse fly is silly, but not a challenge. theres no way to do it otherwise as there nothing but rockburn feilds in every direction and 3 consecutive jumps that seem to think you have your wingsuit on to avoid.

Music:
for some damn reason, they decided to only have a few tracks in. Every run you start cuts off the song before. The latter gets extreamly noticable when you spend multiple HOURS attempting the same run chasing gold/completion.

PROS:

Music. The few tracks we do have, feel GREAT. I was especially happy to hear Blackmill in here....

Boarding/skiing. Tricks and jumps asside, if you like racing in snowgames, this games GREAT for that. Just... stay away from backcountry trees... turning is a bit... odd in this sometimes.

Wingsuit. This is prolly by far my favorite bit. I wanted steep for the snowboarding... but the Wingsuit proved to be to much fun..... I may be addicted.

TL:DR
really great fun game with glaring control issues. if you can get used to the last bit, your gold. try it. its free. decide from there for yourself!

Its been a loooong time.

Last review for loadout, all I really said was how much fun I was having.
Things have changed.

There are now two versions of the game. The first, and original, hasnt been touched by the devs in ages. They left it behind. Personaly, this version was better. Upgrades were ease to get a grasp of, combat wasnt confusing, pvp was enjoyable. All they had to do was add a campaign mode and it woulda been perfect.

Instead....

Version two. The PvE story we wanted was put in here instead. All your work you had done on your main account, was now lost and you had to start from scratch. No money refunded, no in game items, nothing. Upgrades where changed into these weird card things that you can fuse other bits into to make them better. But that ment finding strongboxes filled with good loot that you have to PAY to get open. Yea, real cash. No more earning it for free. Pay to win!

After that virtual slap to the face, you now have to deal with the insane difficulty jump in the campain. COmbat became confusing with how difficult it became. You where now expected to have this amazing gear... that you need to pay to get from the loot safes. As a direct result, only the payers get great items, thus making their pvp game that much better.

After asking about a transfer of all the things I earned and bought (Way to much money, im ashamed to admit) I was blatently told, "No, your fault for wasting money in that version of the product". Most of this was cosmetic, and has no effect on your damage or playability, so why couldnt that be transfered? They could have even transfered my weapons, albit at a much reduced power and thus needing fusion, and id be happier. All the skill trees I invested HOURS into, where now reset. Nothing stings more then loss of progression.

For a new player, this is no big deal. You can play and get the free loot crates, bombs for a couple boxes, and go from there. But eventually you will hit the pay wall. For vets... I uninstalled the second version and will never go back.

For anyone looking for a nice shooter with absolute crazyness and tons of fun, i reccomend the original version. You can get it all for free! You dont need to spend money to get peices to fuse into gear to make it good, you can just use the skill trees via free money progression.

Do I reccomend this game? No. I dont. I did once.
I reccomend the first.

Sadly, No. I honestly havent been able to even play it yet. When I start the game im stuck in the floor, unable to move, use, or do anything. And Im not the only one. Apparently the issue is rampant, and the number of bugs makes Goat Simulators buggy physics look like the best physics EVER.

As an Ace pilot for MW, MA, and then AC, this game brings back such good feels. The sound as you stomp about, the whir of your cannons, the distinctive WHOOSH of missles, and the satisfying BOOM that follows, all tie you into a mech experiance worthy of rivaling even an Atlas. If you love mech games, you NEED to give hawken a try.

Only down side: The devs seem to have slowed to less then a crawl on content and updates, so what you see now is basicly what you get. Still worth the nod though!

Great game with loads of playtime. Its been a long time since ive needed to change my stance on a game. This is easily one of them. See, the company behind it is CONSTANTLY evolving and adding to it. Theres TONS to do now. This thing is amazing for a group of friends. Solo gets extreamly tedious sometimes without the right gear. Attempting to Stealth every misson can provide months of fun at any rate. The graphics (assuming you have the capability to run on high) are amazing. Even at LOW rendering.

However the company behind it seems to have a slightly disturbing trend of cultural appropriating things and nameing them how they see fit, then twisting the meaning to meet their own goals. Yinyang, not yin-yang, does NOT mean night and day. "Ninjas play free" when the plural for Ninja, is still ninja. Like sheep or 3 sheep. Nikana is a duel bladed katana that was used to create wounds that are extreamly uneasy to heal due two the two cuts being so close that you cant stich one, without causing more damage to the other. Yet our classic katana, is named nikana...

Recent updates have added alot of more "gamemodes" and mission types. Arcwing is helariously fun, albit missing more missions and types to run it. Again the "i have this item... and now should fasrm this item thats not as good or maybe slightly better, for no reason" problem glares here. Theres to many items to aquire and most of them are "useless" when compared to other "builds". There is definitly a meta group of Frames and Weapons to use. After supporting the game and its devs for so long, there comes a time when I cant defend them anymore for their fallbacks that they never seem keen to take care of. Main points of exhaustion, Highly repetitive gameplay, overly difficult "raid" that requires alot of teamwork, and with a community that seems reminiscint of LoL or CoD, one mistake leads to endless rage in chats. Player ran markets.... normaly sound like a great idea till you realize the prices are vastly overpriced for quality of item(I myself have done this, and felt bad about it) <reminds me of thorn in destiny. You just feel dirty for using it.

All in all, its a great game if you love grinders, and massive time sinks. Theres Lore to be chased, Hidden statues to locate and scan, and weapons. Everywhere.
