Reddit just released a video on May 22,2013. Its a teaser of the new up and coming Terraria update 1.2 for the computer.
They finally are adding in the half blocks for seamless travel... sort of. most likely only works with one block elevation difference but still no more need for straight roads for fast hermes boots traveling.

Finally finished my vault room for one of my terraria worlds... now i just have to fill each chest with the respective items

Finally Steam is updating Terraria ive waited for 12 hours
