This visual novel has good writing and a cast of quirky characters. It's got a dense amount of writing so if you just want to get to making drinks maybe this game isn't your cup of tea. One part of the game-play is gathering rumors through the story, which an hour in seems simple, but it has a good feel like organizing a desk to get it tidy.

When customers request it, you make these characters drinks which is also simple task but has a pleasant quality as you pour brightly colored liquids into your mixing glass. The game has hinted at other mechanics being introduced later so as we unlock recipes the drinks should have more effects.

The main bulk of the game is about getting to know these characters and helping them along their stories. It is implied that when given a decision to pick one of multiple types of drink that you can effect the outcomes of these stories, but I haven't gotten far enough to see how this will work. All in all, I find this game a fun and relaxing experience. Check it out if you are looking for a charming, low-pressure, fantasy setting visual novel.

It's very close to the original game, all my favorite moments from the classic Trials of Mana was realized with incredible attention to detail. The music is still one of my favorite soundtracks and the recompositions were quite enjoyable to listen to. Some of the game mechanics may feel a bit dated because the combat is very similar to the SNES game, so while the SNES Trials of Mana was ahead of its time as an Action RPG the combat in this game may feel a bit old school or simple. Even playing on Hard this game may not be much of a challenge if you know the bosses tricks. The game only pushed back on a few occasions. Still, I had a lot of fun playing it. The voice acting was a joy, Kevin and Charlotte's dialog were just as silly as I remember. Play the game with Charlotte in your group if you want to hear a hammy performance for every scene. It did not disappoint.

It's one of the best video games you can that is a card game and will probably be remembered for being incredibly influential in its genre.

Life is Strange is one of those rare games that captures their characters in a sincere light. I didn't like everyone, for obvious reason within the story, but they all felt like real people. The main character is a shy, pretentious, teenage girl that is both horrible and interesting in a number of ways. She at certain points of the story represents both the best and worst qualities of human beings. Her power allows her to indulge in the darker aspects of human nature and then essentially erases the consequence of her actions by rewinding time. Even I felt really bad about the some of the choices that Max had available to her and how much joy she took in doing something she knew she would reverse. Yet on the other hand she also had some of the best humanizing moments I've experienced in a video game to date. The point of this game is to sell it's character and get the player to care about the world, with a few time puzzles in between, and I think Life is Strange delivered.
