I've played since release, but I have to say the game has stepped up in the past few seasons. In particular, season 6 through 9 have been very, very Nice. Apex developers are reactive to the community, and constantly tinkering with the balancing, making the game adaptive. Though cheating was a big issue in early seasons, it is less common now. Issues which require direct intervention can be reported via twitter or twitch, and the ban hammer is swift and unrelenting., Don't be one of those who mistakes skill for cheating though, quite often you will find yourself screaming about the team that came up behind you when you finally do land a few kills.
