Yeah, uh, class of 09 3 is really dark without Nicole's biting wit at the forefront as usual. It's way less comical compared to 1 &2, but I think that's actually the point. Jecka's dad is incredibly abusive to the point you don't want him to be on screen or, more accurately, *you don't want to be there*. When Nicole isn't the protagonist, it really brings out how ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up all these situations are. Whether it's becoming a ♥♥♥♥♥ for foot fetishists, getting sold into the taliban slave market, or killing a gay girl in a drunk driving incident, it really puts into perspective just how ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up all of this is. I think that's part of the humor in 1 & 2. Nicole is a sociopath and most of the stuff that happens to her is directly her fault, but jecka is really just a normal girl having these things happen *at* her, only some of it being her fault. There is still comedy, like Jecka meeting the hatman, but the rest of it is cringe humor, like Jeffery going on tangents about how Jecka is his favorite foot mommy. Class of 09 The Flipside is like most series entries; another dose of your drug of choice that never gives you that same high of your first time. I don't know if it's "pseudo-intellectual misery porn" as another review put it, but its definitely more dark than it needed to be. Even if it's out of character for the series, a more neutral or "happy" would've been a nice send off. I think it's still a good enough send off for the series, but certainly not to even some Class of 09's tastes.
