Early Access Review
Most of the reviews are going to talk about the performance and such, which is fair but potentially fixable.

However the core gameplay loop isnt so easily bandaged into a workable state. You'll be dropped off at random stranded away from other players in a primarily multiplayer game, With little to no ability to actually find each other bar the objective's and playing glorified games of marco polo. This woudnt be so bad...If the game didnt rely on overrunning you at the objectives as its primary way of applying pressure on you. This, coupled with the lengthy, and ill-defined objectives, means that groups will practically remain scattered for the entire duration until they reach the finale...IF they reach the finale.

The VOIP is a mess and the lack of a call-out menu akin to the first means that those without mics are ♥♥♥♥♥♥ for communication, meaning that you'll need third party communication software in order to keep in contact. The first had this as well and wasnt really an issue. However, The first game's map's were TINY in comparison, the size of a city block at most. It just doest not fix well into the map size and turns a co-operative experience into a chore.

Another factor is that the game's melee is, despite coming from the same publisher as CHIV2, Is utterly broken. Theres only 1 melee and heavy attack combo with the inablity to do anything beyond swinging and shoving. No alternative angles, no blocking, its so lackluster that it makes the first game's combat system look impressive in comparison.

And now they're apparently deleting feedback and reviews. Aint this just turned out fine and dandy...

It was a good game while it lasted, But considering it now forces you to install invasive spyware on your PC, I strongly recommend you to give this a pass.

Despite the short amount of hours, I've played this game since the Beta. In that time I've seen poor decision after poor decision by the developers. Enforced and Unbalanced Assymetrical Warfare, Removal of cross-faction communication, Increased logistical workload, the refusal from the developers to deal with the chronic and widespread Alting issues that have caused massive problems, especially in the current war. The Community has become toxic on both sides of the factions and is such a horrendous enviroment to even play in, that I cannot in good faith recommend this game. It's a fantastic idea, and it DID work upon once a time, but the developers have ignored the playerbase for years now and all the problems are comming home to roost.

I'm not the best with reviews, But Imperator is for all intents and purposes as wide as an ocean, But deep as a puddle. Over reliance on Mana mechanics and barebone nations makes for a slow and painful game. You'd be better off getting Rome 2 Total war and installing one of the overhaul mods at this point.

if you wanted a true zombie experiance look no further, nmrih offers realistic scenarios with zombies that can take you down in one bite, ammo being rare and every bullet counts. just remember to tell your teammates if you become infected or else you could make your entire team sucumb to the infection.
