Pay no attention to the mere 100 hours I've played this on Steam. By sheer luck I was among the first to play this way back when. Some friends recommended it to me. So there's at least 500 or more hours instead.

The game owes itself a lot to Warsong, aka Langrisser,, an old Sega game.(Langrisser 1 and 2 are available on Steam together. Warsong 2 was never to be as it wasn't released in the US). The artwork on those was given a more modern look.

If you like/love Turn Based Strategy, nothing about Wesnoth will bug you. Not only does it have a ton of play/replay value, there are countless additions to the game made by other players. It's another "easy to learn, difficult to master" type.

Grab all of these you can...then search the mods to gain almost every Sega game that has ever been. It's real old school but you'll enjoy yourself time and time again.

Addictive. Fast, easy to learn but difficult to Master but fun while you do so. You will also want the DLC for it.

It seems this game does "random" right(unlike about 99% of all games). Yeah, sometimes you draw awesome, sometimes meh, sometimes terrible but it averages out like it's supposed to. Unlike all the Multi card games, like MTG and Eternal, where the random is so skewed, I average going first less than 15% of the time.(out of hundreds of thousands of matches).

If you enjoy gritting your teeth in frustration and wanting to throw things at the computer, then this is the game for you. No, it has nothing to do with the game itself which I'm sure is a delight, it's due to Uplay being this game's fubar of choice.

Those at Uplay are experts at advertising junk you'll never want. That's it. They can't operate a service to save their collective lives. Uplay is a joke, you can't ever find real help with it and trust me, you'll need it with any game they control.

One day I found a fix. It wouldn't work the next day so I tried a different one, and again, the next day it wouldn't work. Is the game trolling me at this point? Did I urinate in their cereal and don't remember? Is this some practical joke only the idiots at Uplay get? Can the loading times get even slower when you actually get the game to show up?

They tell you "To fix black screen hit alt+enter then in options..blah, blah, blah". That's it. if it doesn't work after that(and for many people it doesn't) then sucks to be you. They did the equivalent of putting a dot band aid on a gaping chest wound and pronounced themselves doctors. I tried "Run as Administrator"..worked again for one session then won't again. I tried compatibility..same result. I tried Copying the game onto a different hard drive, then pasting it back on this one..it worked great for once and now won't work again.

What's next? Waiting til the Moon is aligned with Jupiter and Haley's Comet is next to alpha centauri while simultaneously trying to burp Dixie while passing gas to the battle Hymn of the Republic?

Ubisoft? Fix your crap or just stop hosting games. You don't know what you're doing, admit it. Give this back to Obsidian, a company that knows what it's doing.

It's early but the game has enormous potential. It's got the kind of graphics I like and I'm not much on that type of thing. It's fun but can be hard for a new player unfamiliar with Trading card games to get the gyst. I am sure someone will create a guide that will help further though, so no worries. There already is a guide to the "Mercenaries" and I recommend strongly that you read it.

I can guess that the game will have a lot added to it in the future, hopefully not too expensive or even free.

You feel like you're playing through a dark and dirty Royal History, not ones usually in the History books. Where dark secrets remain lurking for those who dare to explore. Where blood has replaced the usual coin. When corruption leads to decay which leads to ruination....bwahahahahaha.

Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men?.....

The Shadow Knows.

If you're a fan of fast paced, Turn Based Battles with RPG/fantasy elements, then buy this game. It's not a game that takes a 4 hour long commitment, you can play at your leisure and still accomplish things in a short amount of time.

You can grind by playing the same enemies over and over or move on when ready. There's no pressure. Just fight, build, obtain and have fun.

Old school game with Turn based Tactics. Something I really like. If that is your forte, then buy this game. If Flashy graphics are all you care about, then don't.

The game started with such promise but has denigrated into a boring shell where both the players and the AI cheat at will. Do yourself a huge favor and go to another free game.

The RNG(random number generator) in this game continues the flaws all online Collectible card games have. Only about 1% of your matches are "good ones" with the rest flawed with one player or the other having too many issues with power screws and floods or just terrible matchups

In regard to matchups, this game is losing people. This means at low rankings you're more than likely going to be "matched" with someone of much higher ranking and skills, especially in draft.

Also, too many mechanics. Not hard to understand them but they all clump together with many of them being "Why did they bother?" types that are quickly forgotten.

In case you think my view on this might be based on limited play, check my hours. I've amassed nearly 10,000 hours over 4 and a half years. I feel stupid for wasting so many hours and money with this overly flawed dumpster fire. At least I'm disabled so my time is nearly worthless.

Tactical combat, army building, hoarding loot and searching for better, great dialogue and story..what else could you want?

Buy this game and be one of the few, whether you get it on sale or full price. If you like Turn Based Strategy mixed with RPG, you NEED this game.
