Early Access Review
Nearly 3k hours and not recommended?

Well the base game has a fair price, offers a lot and will keep you busy for a long time.

The update schedule is a rippoff. After developement diary nr (i dont even know any more) with 0 bugfixing or implementation of anything i cant help but feel like somebody is trying to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ me. There mods out there done by a single person with more content then planned by the developer.

It came a long way and now it is a scam. Plain and simple.

Early Access Review
Well as you can expect this game is early access and quite a few things dont work properly or arent even in the game yet. On the other hand i never had a game where i could get in touch with a GM or Support as fast as in this game. Got helped with stuck carts, problems with the launcher or various other probs quickly and easy via the official discord Server.

Quite a few people complain about not getting warned that every single char needs a ticket to the main continent but you actually get warned twice. They simply just click away the Info tab for the server they chose without reading it. The only thing that should be comunicated better is that you wont get a ticket back when deleting your chars. Still along with even the starterpack you get enough premium currency to buy at least one more ticket to the mainland.

Best thing to do is to look for a guild BEFORE you transfer to the mainland (look for a smaller one thats not having everything already or you wont have anything to do and get bored rather quickly). Saves you quite some traveltime and trouble you might encounter on your way to your new home. Forget about going solo especially on Avalon the red PvP World. This game is made for guilds and solo will only work if you get multiple chars since you cant learn everything with one.

What you can do right now:

Building Castles and everything you need for your profession of choice
Landscaping
Crafting
small scale PvP (depending on the world you choose more or less)
Trade (System for it on your server is kinda strange but you can export stuff to other servers and that works fine. Trading on your server is just working if you are actually willing to talk to other people and make deals this way. Takes time but you will always find somebody - at least i did so far)

The game lacks:

PvE content - besides some animals there are no npcs to fight at all (they made a trailer for natives that will be implemented but since that - May - no news)
large scale PvP is laggy and lacks proper mechanics for sieges - no ladders to get on a wall is just one example
working economy - trade is possible but still it lacks a lot
proper servers - you will encounter laggs even running around solo, but they are working on it and at least i think it got better
Players - quite a few left for different reasons - got bored, laggs/bugs - lost everything including their whole base (hello Avalon), some after 500 hrs+ complaining about the lack of content (sry will never get that 30 bucks for 500 hrs ah well you got something for your money)

Community:

As everywhere else you have Kiddos, Griefer and the other nice bunch of people. Especially the vocal PvPler community on the official discord can be quite toxic (hey i am part of a guild thats bigger then everybody else and nobody can touch so i will never loose my whole castle but you guys man up that we just zerged down and be food again - lovely or?). Still there are quite a lot mature players you can have a blast with.

So why do i recommend the game?

I still have fun after over 600 hrs and my rather small guild has still lots to do just building stuff. We simply dont press ourself to get everything as fast as possible knowing that it will only leave us with nothing to do. On the other hand Im not a big fan of PvP and just play on Skjultland where PvP is possible but not as common as it is on Avalon (and the risk to loose 6 months work in 1 day a lot lower).

So lets see if new content and changes will come to make the game better and if not i got quite some fun already for my money. If i get bored one day, the game shuts down or whatever reason will make me leave it wont be angry or disappointed. I knew from the start this early access and a small company.
