After more than 3000 hours of play, I have to advise against buying this game. The developers don't think it's necessary to fix the real problems of the game and punish players for misbehavior. Alternate accounts that sabotage the opposing faction are the order of the day and ruin the game for everyone involved. Instead of punishing these players, questionable mechanics are implemented that force players to log into the game almost daily to protect their built structures and buildings from foreign interference, but these mechanics do not provide 100% protection.
Instead of giving the players a pleasant playtime, they are kept in line with unnecessary content updates. Updates that make the game unnecessarily complicated and drag out the process of crafting various items. Things that are not fun but are necessary for the war to progress, take up a large part of the game time and need to be constantly monitored.
The devs stay hidden and don't communicate with the remaining small community. They only speak up again to introduce new unnecessary vehicles or time-consuming mechanics in the next content update.

Edit:
The recent QoL changes have made a difference and made the time spent playing Foxhole much more enjoyable. However, the game is still a hard grind and alting has been made more difficult but not prevented. Some things need some fine tuning but the game is back on track.
