A great city builder game! Very interesting management of your resources. The graphics are good, there is a lot of variety. Feels like a good city building board game.

Great game, it definitely got better with the updates. I have definitely not looked back and the last game. There is no other sandbox transport sim like this out there.

Early Access Review
Fantastic implementation, the AI isn't bad either!

Good game mechanics, however I cannot recommend due to blasphemous depictions of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Unfortunately a potentially good game killed by a terrible business modal. Paradox needs to make focused game. The problem is that their DLC model for developing this game lead them to making everything a unwieldy mess instead of having a coherent game.

Edit: I'm more satisfied with the game state now as of Dec 2022, most of the bugs were fixed.

A great factory game. Don't let the graphics fool you, this is almost as deep as Factorio. While you don't have the pressure of enemies, the building and optimizing puzzles can be as complex as you want them to be. It's like a mash up of Anno and Factorio.

This game is great. Not only did they do a great job adapting the boardgame, but it is a better experience overall! The AI is fairly decent. There are many options for mutiplayer. You can play real time or a more practical long timer mode (think 1 turn a day). The expansion is a must, it gives the game a crazy amount of variety.

This game is great. Basically its an awesome modal train set that has a nice economy behind it. The game is about building an awesome looking and well functioning transport network. The economic systems in the game gives the networks you build something to do. It is fun to watch the cargo get moved around and see that your trucks and trains are actually working. It is also fun to see you cities get bigger from moving stuff around.
Only complaints I have is that the UI could be improved in some ways. There has to be a better way to deal with all the routes instead of just putting them all in one list. The game also needs to the explain its cargo mechanics better. The information is out there if you ask around, and once you get its pretty easy. But they game it self doesn't tell you how it works upfront.

Basically if you want a game that gives you a really awesome train, tram, airplane and boat set to build and play with Transport Fever is fantastic.

I think the game is good still, however now I aware of same balance issues in the economy. The early game is all off because of the way prices are calculated for trains. Basically the possible speed of the wagon is a big factor, and since the early trains are not nearly fast enough for the wagons, the upkeep cost is too high. That's why people have a hard time making money with trains in the 19th century part of the game. Hopefully its fixed in TF2.

I would also recommend a mod that lets less towns spawn. Frankly maybe 10 towns gives plenty for a player to manage. Now you may ask, why would I want less towns? Well when 30 or more towns all grow in the late game, its too much for the CPU and so the game lags. Less towns should reduce the lag.

The game is great, endless interesting tinkering. The dev team is great as well, one of the best I have seen at being highly competent at making a well focused game and not sacrificing the game to funny business practices.

A true masterpiece of a game, sui generis of factory games.
