As far as TD games go, you can PROBABLY find better ones, but as far as Idle games go, this one is really great. The combination of the two genres makes for... Interesting scenarios, but ultimately it's a set it and forget it kind of playstyle if that's all you want out of it. You'll bore yourself faster then trying to learn how to play Magic The Gathering, however.

The real complexity, and the true game, unlocks once you decide this is more then a set it and forget it kind of deal. There are plenty of tower combinations to play off of, some of the abilities getting stronger based on what kind of tower is either in play, or in range of the tower with that ability.

There IS a real money store, but it's entirely optional, and not at all predatory, and you can earn alot of 'free' stuff via the ingame currency known as Gems. Gems unlock things like game speed, money, EXP, that sort, and you can earn gems either by real money purchase, or by simply playing the game. There is no direct limit to how many gems you can earn, so in theory, you don't have to spend a dime on the game.

There is a concern that the 'PVP' tournament can be viewed as pay to win, but in all honesty, PVP in this game is a generous notion, as it's just a limited 2 day race to see how far you can get. It also brackets the game based on how well you did prior to joining the tournie bracket, so you can do it normally, or you can be like my Brother in Law and sandbag your placement.

All in all, it's Free to play, and actually is free to play, as an idle game, you can't really go wrong here.

Absolutely amazing. There are alot of words I could share about it that has been said a million times better by better voiced individuals then myself. Boss fights? You got 'em. Graphics? They're there. Skill expression? Nothing but. Satisfaction? Guarenteed.

There are a few nitpicks here and there, but that's what they boil down to. Such as certain fights being stunlock fests. But the best thing about this, is that it's not an unsolvable puzzle. Monsters roaring you into wombo-combos? Build Earplugs, and you'll be laughing as you demon-flurry. Monster constantly causing fireblight? Get your fire resist to 20 and you no longer have to worry about it.

The game occasionally has minor issues here and there with connection, something that the console players, as I understand it, haven't suffered from, but compared to when it was first released, it has become so far inbetween.

My only wish is that I had more friends that actively played alongside me! Seriously, this game is amazing alone, but an outstanding game with a full squad of friends.

11/10 would flashpod every flying monster, and dungpod every B-52 Bomber, only to die to the Pickle. If you're on the fence about the game, you need to check it out.
