Played first chapter. It was about half an hour of content with easy puzzles and weak jumpscares. No, a cardboard cut out does not scare me. I thought "Oh whatever it's free the second dlc chapter with totally have more to offer and probably be longer too." It wasn't. Same easy puzzles and i it was even shorter. The enemies can be killed with a single shot and they hit you so lightly and you regen so quickly the only way you'll die is if you're trying to die on purpose. If this game doesn't step up the gameplay with the third chapter i will not be throwing any more money at this.

Secondly, the reviews for the game keep saying it has a compelling storyline when it quite simply doesn't. Some dudes summoned a demon to bring their cartoons to life. There. That's the story. There's no buildup. No point where you're trying to figure out what happened. It's pretty cut and dry.

Im pretty sure the only reason this game is as popular as it is is because of massive fan boy attraction. Streamer fans just flocked to the game and threw money at it and were overjoyed at the indie-ness of the game. But, unfortunately, being indie doesn't excuse it just being a weak game. A testament to the laziness of this game is the fact that the only 2 colors in the whole game are light brown and black. I know it's supposed to be the artstyle of a 50's cartoon but you can take one look at the poorly modeled boris doll (or whatever) and see that if anything actually has to be animated it is done so awfully.

In conclusion, it's a bad game. I don't care that it's indie. Crypt of the necrodancer is indie and it's fantastic. Streamer fanboys and a cringey fandom made this game anything. It's just fnaf all over again.
