I simply have no desire to finish this game, but I did at least try.

The Good:
The art and soundtrack are pretty great. Some songs go really hard and it's awesome. The movement feels pretty fun throughout the whole experience, although it can be tiresome to find things to target. The story and lore are there for you to find, though it's mostly through 'atlas' entries about an area. Maybe I missed some things, but I had no idea until just recently (in the ~7 hours I've played) why the main character was doing what they were doing. That said, once I had a reason, I was more motivated to play until I hit (what I presume was) the final boss.

Why I didn't like it:
Bosses are bland: I was worried about this game after the first boss fight but was optimistic. It turns out most (if not all) boss fights have the exact same formula: the boss is invulnerable or is doing damage around them, so you just have to avoid them and then get a few hits before repeating. There are about 2 bosses off the top of my head that were interesting to fight for me personally. Neither of them uses the formula as before or if they do there's an interesting gimmick involved so you can actually do something besides dodging. No spoilers for the final boss, but it was the straw that broke my back. Probably the biggest offender of this strategy and there are a few one-shot kill things to really make it fun.

Exploration: There are many sections that require you to remember where you can use a new ability (pretty similar to how other metroidvanias play). This is where someone will say "Just take notes", which is fair, but still frustrating. On top of that, near the very end of the game, there are 8 (I think) things scattered on the map, with seemingly no rhyme or reason as to where they are or hints as to where they could be. It's implied that finding them will be very good for you, but I simply can't be bothered to survey the entire map, the movement isn't THAT fun.

Other: Platforming is not fun, it's especially difficult to do some of the more challenging sections because three of your abilities are on your scroll wheel, and are often required to switch between them midair.

I don't know, maybe if you enjoy boss-rush-like games, this might be more up your alley, but personally, the bosses and fights were hardly interesting and weren't challenging in a fun way, but an irritating way.

Simply said, the game is amazing not for it's graphics, but for it's story and characters. I absolutely must recommend experiencing it.

This game is great, kinda like a 2D minecraft, but there is sooo much more. Lots of stuff to explore and find, you'll never be bored!
