A smashing success and well worth buying as it already is. If you ever wanted to play Gen. Hammond simulator 2023, this is the game for you.

Pros:
Tons of stories, seriously is it possible to litter the galaxy with stories? They did and its great.
Exploring the galaxy
Dealing with teams calling for help dealing with various off world crises... or Ignoring them
Advancing technology to meet the demands of some weird conglomerate with dubious intentions
Oh god the sealife hivemind are invading, not the generators NOOO
Alien artifacts galore

Cons:
The scale doesn't quite fit the inspiration (yet). There really is only one challenge to overcome so far but its obvious there is meant to be more.
Some of the progression feels like it unlocks after it would have been most useful to have it.

I played when the game first launched before any patches. This period made the game exceptionally difficult, the developers listened to community feedback and that has since been changed in their first patch. After the first 6 failed initiatives I implemented running as efficient as possible and managed to take the game all the way, exploring the whole universe, collecting all the artifacts, going through all the microstories.

Honestly just chill and enjoyable fun without all the inconvenient bits like combat, talking to npcs, or some form of legitimate gameplay. This is just true gamer progression in its purest form.

Spent some time playing this game solo, on a community server, then on a private dedicated server.

You can expect to explore and discover, the game slowly opens up into new areas with a combat system similar to dark souls, a building system similar to Conan Exiles/Ark, and a fluid boss progression that gives structure to help guide the player on what to do next. Although most people just eat berries and build. This game is simply great, particularly for early access. The only Con in all my time playing is that there are no online protections so if you play on a community server you can expect your build and progress to be wiped out by random people if they can join the server. Even with that I would give this game 10/10. Easily one of the best games I've played in a decade.

Best described as a game of choice, that lacks choice. You are often in situations where what choices you have are determined by what choices you have made. Which might sound nice... until you realize that because you are utterly feared by a faction, the game won't let you choose a peaceful option.

I enjoyed my first playthrough very much, I highly recommend this game to anyone simply because I think it has done choice better than any other game I've played.

On that note, I wish it was slightly better.

After spending a bit of freetime in this game I want to give it a 9/10. The only Cons for me are the openess of the game... comparable to how minecraft felt when it first came out. There is minor handholding and the game simply expects you to know something (I still am unsure about cooking... like do I have to find these recipes? If I have all the ingredients can I learn it?). However while this is a minor frustration I think it creates a challenge rarely seen in games these days, but not having a way to find this is a con to me.

Good art style, I've had no problems with bugs, and LOTS of content. There always seems to be something new to discover if I look for it.

I certainly recommend this game.

One of few games I consider an honest, timeless, classic.

Even now loading it up to see if playing it is just nostalgia I find that it offers even more depth and is even better than I remember it being. My teenager self remembers this game fondly being in my top ten, coming back to it as an adult and finding that unlike many others, it remains just as fun.

10/10, deserves a remake and sequel.

Simple controls, complex tactics, LOTS of fun.

Great for just something to play when you are bored.

Chaining events with only outcomes that project further depression without giving the option to CHOOSE to get better is dumb.

Perhaps it was just my playthrough, but when I'm depressed I do something about it... You are only powerless when you give up the power you have over yourself. Sometimes you need outside help for motivation, but the action still needs to be taken...

I dislike this greatly because I felt like it represents the depression inaccurately and because it was not entertaining in the least.

I enjoy a good shooter and I enjoy mmos. I don't enjoy playing GPS Simulator when I'm expecting a shooter. This is a good game to try as long as you don't mind no quick travel and constantly having to run for 5 minutes before you get to your next objective.

Really simple concept, really in depth gameplay. 9.5/10 and the BEST early access game I've played yet.

The most recent addition (planet of the apes) was a ton of fun; and with the upcoming co-op and competitive multiplayer this game looks like it will have it all.

My only request is a little more complexity, I wish there was more effect that the player could have on the game.
I highly recommend this to anyone, well worth the price.
