I think the only supergiant game that I hadn't played yet, which is crazy since it was their debut. I thought the game was very fun. Love the the voice of Rucks narrating our adventure through the calamity leading up to some emotional lines at the end.

The gameplay is fine. There isn't anything too crazy going on even if you play with all 10 idols on. You'll eventually find a loadout/strategy that works for you. I also really love how quick ng+ is. You get to carry everything over so cleaning up any missed achievements isn't too bad. It was also really fun to see what ideas and even sounds that they took from Bastion to then put in their later games.

The only thing I really didn't like was the Score Attack mode. I thought it was going to be some arena and that I could get the last achievement for 1 million points scored and put Bastion down as a 100% completed game. However, score attack is a new game file where you have to play through the whole game for a 3rd time but back at level 1 with nothing unlocked. While not difficult, after 2 back to back playthroughs and struggling with the 10 idol wanderer's dream I had no desire to go back to square one.

Overall Bastion is a great game with an amazing OST as always by Darren Korb. Big recommend if you need a nice weekend game.

Nice fun little game that gives you a stealth Hotline Miami vibe or maybe Party Hard. You go into crime scenes to pick up and dispose of bodies, clean blood, and gather any evidence left behind. I think I picked this up in a humble bundle but would recommend picking it up on sale if you're looking to kill anywhere from 3-5 hours.

TL;DR 5/10, would create an Ayumi firing squad of 20 to blast one enemy into dust again <3

The most 5/10 game in the best way possible!
The story? Complete dog_shit.
The writing? dog_shit.
The 2 button combat turned 3rd person shooter? dog_shit.
Characters? dog_shit

Nothing about this game will wow you, however I had a BLAST playing this game. It really hit the itch of playing a janky 360 game but actually palatable. Nothing was ever TOO tedious or felt TOO unfair. It was short and easily beatable in a day and for me had a charming nostalgic feel.

The Dismal Swamp DLC was also very fun. It's only about and hour or less. You play as Michelle with your buddy Zero and get shot down behind enemy lines with your robo commando bros and the best damn commander that never let morale slip. It was a more engaging plot than the actual game and was a nice little treat of an experience after I had finished the main game.

Pick it up on sale for like 3 bucks for a fun afternoon.

TL;DR : A fantastic and very stylish game with a great story the pulls on the heartstrings, a sick soundtrack, and fun gameplay and with only very minor things that I wasn't a huge fan of!

The Pros:
+ Beautiful art/music/style
+ Fantastic story
+ I personally enjoyed the switch between narrative and gameplay. I know others were not huge fans of the smaller gameplay chunks and then longer sections of reading, but it felt nice taking a break from the breakneck speed.



The Ehh
+/- The dialogue can be campy at times. I loved it and thought it made the game endearing, but others may not be as big of fans


The Cons:
- Some levels can be tediously long, and as amazing as the art is, I got sick of being in the factory level because of how long it felt (Could easily be a me thing)

- Some of the checkpoints for me were a bit odd. I am no platforming expert (I played on normal) but sometimes falling off to your death (or missing your swings) landed me in different spots. SOMETIMES it'll respawn you nearby with a bar of health missing, and other times it'll send you 3-4 screens back (despite having enough health to survive the fall) which would take the wind out of my sails especially if I had just completed a tough section. During a particular boss fight if you fall you automatically die and restart from the beginning of the multi-phase boss fight which can be mildly irritating.

Simplistic yet amazing rhythm game with an impressive song list, especially if you got the dlc.

The game is completely ridiculous in a good way
