Great game in theory but the execution kills it. Sokoban games are great. Sokoban games that find ways to weave in a narrative are even better. This game however decides to try and add interactive elements where you need to click on objects: and this is what kills it. For whatever reason, the actual spot you need to click on is off. This hits as soon as the first level when you need to get your bag. This problem then climaxes with a gate you need to click in a wandering spot, a projector where you don't click on any of the obvious buttons, and a keypad where you don't click on the keypad but rather the wall next to the keypad, using trial and error to figure out where the keys are.

This issue probably took up more of my playtime than anything else. Which again as the developer can clearly construct some solid puzzles and even makes a pretty fun boss fight at the end. But fighting the controls to just interact with an object or aim a weapon is inexcusable.

This game is the perfect relaxing puzzler for everyone who spent WAY too much time in RE4 arranging the briefcase. Great design with the puzzles as well, properly introducing new mechanics while steadily increasing the difficulty

Amazing send up to games like Shadow Tower but with a vibe all its own. Couple it with a fantastic 4cking soundtrack and you got one of the vibinginst dungeon crawlers ever.

Fun clicker with a bit more input than others of its genre. I also dig the aesthetic

This game is a perfect reward cycle. Every time you think you're getting bored you will find a new challenge or get a new unlock to keep you engaged. I'm glad to see the developers took what they learned from making gambling games to making a one time purchase game that has near endless replayability.

Extremely fun puzzler with a good sense of humor. Takes a minute to get the hang of things (learning how to set up combos), but once you learn it and how to unlock all the different items, it becomes a FANTASTIC experience where you will be mowing down zombies

Straight on silly game by COG and it works wonderfully. There are flaws (the ending achievements are mostly determined by one big choice at the end with your previous decisions not preventing you from choosing any option or unlocking ones from you) but the sheer ludicrousness of some of the things you can do and experience make the experience awesome and enjoyable. For example, there's a subplot about a pair of anchors who have a failing on and off marriage, a rural cop who has more ordinance than small countries, and school kids who will help you steal gold.

The supervillainy/heroics are closer to something like Darkwing Duck, rather than your standard DC/Marvel parody. The story can get dark (and there's even a lethality score to help represent your bloodshed) but even the darker aspects aren't explicit.

One thing I really apprecciated was the "planning point" system. While there are decisions that are locked behind your past choices (for example: If you didn'tenslave a character, you can't use them when an opportunity presents itself), there are also locked choices that require planning points. You acquire them by showing your ability to gain resources or favors from NPCs. Locked choices that require PP allow you to take flashier options to sometimes use all of the other options at once. It's a fun mechanic and gives replayability to the game since there aren't enough points to cover all locked choices)

While I still feel that Choice of the Deathless is COG's crown jewel, Diabolical is a lot of fun and well worth your time. Now, to make the greatest chocolate factory in the world...and keep all the chocolate TO MYSELF, MWHAHAHAHAHAHA!
