When will you idiots realise that the Nords are the empire. The empire was first concieved of in Skyrim by a Nord. The first conquests of the empire were made by a mostly Nord army. They used ancient Nordic powers and invoked anicent Nordic heroes and gods in order to conquer Tamriel. Throughout the empire's history the vast majority of troops have been Nords. A lot of people like to say the Nord pantheon was co-opted by the imperial pantheon but that's totally backwards, there never was an imperial pantheon, the empire used the Nordic pantheon from the beginning, it only became less and less recognizably Nordic as the Empire changed over time and became more distant from it's Nordic roots. The fact that even the Nords are pulling out of the empire is a testament to the fact that it's truly dead, it's like if America pulled out of NATO.
