Skullgirls is a beautiful 2-D fighter. Visuals aside, it is also one of the more solid fighting games I've played in while. It contains one of the best fighting game tutorials perfectly suited for beginners. As of now, the roster is fairly small, but the game is still being supported with four more characters on the way. I will also say that the character balancing is also well done (no one character dominates the rest of the cast). The PC version of the game is the superior one containing better online support and a lobby system.

The areas where the game maybe lacking are as follows: lackluster story (normal for fighting games), frequent character rebalancing (this is probably why the game is so balanced in the first place, but having to relearn a character every so often can be annoying), and too much fanservice (this is a very subjective view).

If you are a fighting game vet or someone who wants to enter the genre, I reccomend purchasing this little gem.
