I would give Mount & Blade: Warband 8 out of 10.
Where the game lacks story and good looks - is irrelevant since the gameplay and style are a sure winner. A mixture of Chivalry meets elements of RTS and RPG gameplay means you won't get bored soon. The game also has a strong modding community and I would recommend the Game of Thrones mod (A Song of Ice and Fire) if you can get it to work. The only cons are the graphics and aesthetic bugs (such as the rivers and seas ocassionally losing their texture or whole castles disappearing).

Highly addictive and fun.
