Having thoroughly played the new Night Ops update quite a bit now, I can now leave a tentative positive review - compared to the last playthrough I have NOT this time had the truly sadistic and broken events I had last playthrough.

Last playthrough I was headshot through walls by enemy that should not have known where I was, I tried to shoot an enemy through glass which was imprenatable for me even with high end ammo but not for them, and had my body fall though the floor and terrain and be unable to loot my stuff.

Sneaking about and using suppressors can actually work now IF there is no one else in the area, however if a firefight starts nearby that you are not involved in the AI becomes alerted to your presence as well - and this has been observed with viewing enemy through scopes as well with the AI only seeming to see you now if there's already been gunfire even if it was elsewhere in the area.

Pistols actually work now for very short range shots, I haven't tried shotguns yet, and running around with the AK Rifles is quite good now as opposed to them being woefully inaccurate before.

All the times I have died this playthrough have seemed fair, with my deaths due to foolishness such as trying to use the MP5 at more than 20 meters away, looting when there was still an enemy around and generally being caught unawares by AI camping as opposed to their previous Banzai charging behaviour.

Review is in progress much like this game still is, but I have enjoyed much more my playthrough this run.

A fine upgrade, true to the Original game with some very welcome changes and additions.. Hexes mean the AI cant settle next to my cities to pinch 2 half tiles anymore, and 2 move ranged units is always useful - but the most satisfying bit is still making a doomstack of units and going around stomping on all the dungeons and nodes a la this video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qo4LckNc-mo

Halfling Slingers and Dark Elf Warlocks are always fun, but the Myriad of Races and Spells means there are many other worthwhile army compositions. I look forward to testing out all the old tactics I tried previously, including casting "Volcano" on AI resources to make them disappear (Devs pls disallow this if you ever make this game multiplayer).

Excellent story, some difficult puzzles but perseverance is worth it!

Great upgrade from Warband, still needs some work but I will be continuing to play this alot!

At least I have this game to go back to while I have no work!

Great for multiplayer, gives me strong BF1942 Vibes just running around the map, with the definite bonus of being required to play as a cohesive team - look forward to further improvements!

Great game to jump into and play, especially co-op. Reminds me of the many hours I spent playing Wolfenstein:Enemy Territory.

I have been playing the Netherlands to begin with, and this DLC is essential for trying to emulate the fortification of the Lowlands and the development of their provinces. Wars are much less tedious and while the AI needs some work to be able to deal with forts effectively the new fort system has great potential. I will certainly play many more hours of EU4 because of this DLC.

Finally a worthy sequel to the original game.. definitely worth playing!
