A better sense of player agency in the main plot here, and the emo whining is gone. Dogtown is a lot of fun. New weapons, new cyberwear, new clothing options (some decent pants), new vehicles, new side missions and a couple of new "end the game" options. Well worth playing.
In spite of the general consensus, and the dev attempt to rub your nose in it being a bad decision, I find the option to remove the relic but lose the ability to use cyberwear to be a good ending option since at that point in the game I had over 10 mil ED, a legendary reputation and a mountain of contacts who owed me favors. Sounds like the start of a new and interesting life to me, but then I've started over a few times IRL so the idea of starting over has lost its sting.

The storms are very pretty. This DLC should appeal to the small group of Stellaris challenge gamers and might be fun for the even more rare multiplayer Stellaris gamers. That's all the positivity I have for this DLC.
This is the "Stormy Galaxy one shot Origin DLC" as having storms constantly ravaging the galaxy is not interesting beyond a single play through, and barely that.
It's an added difficulty DLC requiring more micromanagement as your planets will get random devastation and bonuses from storms while some pops will randomly die. The storms themselves are almost constant, and as such storms do not feel like major events and instead are just something you must accept as the new norm. The announcement of a new storm is just a click to dismiss since there is nothing you can do about it. Your planets will all have low levels of devastation, if you put in a planetary shield, storm repulser and aid center on each one, or mid levels of devastation if you do nothing. Doing nothing is the min-max approach, just allocate more housing to deal with unavoidable homelessness and free up your limited and valuable building slots for more important buildings. Once again the deranged Stellaris devs push you towards playing as a sadistically cruel despot who rejoices in suffering - seriously, the devs need an intervention.
I am a roleplay Stellaris player (as are the vast silent majority of players for this game) and this DLC offers the least of any DLC for the roleplay experience. Even the obligatory "new origin", that in the past have at least been good for a single play through, is not even that here. The storm chaser origin gives you a few quirky pop ups for you to close, and that's it. As if they knew they needed to add the expected new origin but couldn't come up with anything more than watching the movie Twister for text pop up inspiration.
While many Stellaris DLC offer very little to the roleplay crowd this one you will actually turn off. The entire DLC is good for a single play through, like most of the DLC origins, which is why I'm calling this the "Stormy Galaxy Origin, One Shot DLC" as you will play one game with it and then you'll leave it turned off forever.

There is a lot to like here - crash to desktop
Some really good ideas with a - UI locks up and disappears
Ideas with a lot of potential, however the game is astoundingly unstable - screen locks up
You'll be getting into your city development and then the game will require you close out the game with the system task manager and reload from a save - UI locks up and disappears
Corrupted save game, start over.
I really want to dig into this game and build a city, see what it has to offer, but in its present state it isn't playable.

Pinnacle RTS game. Great single player story if not super deep. Three factions. There is still an active PvP community, but I don't PvP.
Gameplay is light on micro tactical management. Instead the game focuses on resource management, research and maneuver across massive maps. Build massive armies. Build navies. Build air forces. Build super weapons. None of that "guess what the dev wants you to do now" nonsense. Do whatever you think is best to solve the tactical problem of a given mission.

The Good: Fine little minigolf game. Can be played single player. Does not require VR. Lots of good free workshop courses. Alternate play modes of hocky and dunk add some replayability.
The Bad: Really horrible cosmetic unlock system that makes you play for 45 min (AFK works) in return for a single repeatable random cosmetic unlock, there are hundreds of cosmetics to unlock so unlocking everything requires tens of thousands of hours of play. The cosmetic system is designed to pump up the number of weekly players and keep this game relevant in Steam statistics. If they spent as much effort creating new courses as they do churning out cosmetics this game would be highly recommendable.
The Ugly: Hopping the ball. For some holes your ball can jump and double jump. There are also jet packs and many other not minigolf things in the game. Lots of not minigolf in this mingolf game.

It's okay. The amount of merc work in the Combine is just ludicrous in MW5. Pretty sure there are more Combine missions, the faction that doesn't hire mercs, than any other faction. The missions are okay. Biggest plus is it gives you access to the Longbow mech.

Worth getting. This does let you set up on Solaris and never take another merc mission again. Industrial zone arenas give you access to jobs that give you access to rare mechs and rare equipment while you are repairing and refitting. The gladiator experience isn't as good as Mechwarrior IV's. There is no sense of you moving up a leaderboard. The arenas are 90% just ordinary maps and do not feel like arenas at all. There is only one real arena (the scrap yard) and then those arenas that are for specific one time campaign missions, however the MW IV arenas are all superior because they are all arenas. The arena commentary is not as good as Ledoux's MW IV commentary, but they do have three commentators which is nice for variety. The campaign is good - Ledoux does a great job with what he is given, and the end twist brought a smile to my face.

micro micro micro. No strategy. Just all twitch reflex gaming. Didn't pick up the bundle for this game so no big deal, but this game represents a way point on the decline to LCD gaming the franchise eventually drowned in.

If you like tables that just focus on being pinball then this is the table for you. Good table to introduce people to pinball with. Frankly I like this table. Feels more old school which I like better than tables which feel too try hard with so many things going on at once. Just be pinball. Of course if you don't like the more old school table feel and need to have extra flippers, minigames in the DMD and so on then this might not be for you. Nice to hear Ellen McLain reprising her role as the Gipsy Danger AI.
