There are hundreds events to see in the XOXO Droplets, but a large amount of them don’t happen automatically. Often times events have to be activated by doing something specific. This Event Guide details how to get every event there is in the game.

Raging Loop is a fairly long visual novel- for the three major routes, each one took me about 7-10 hours, and then the final route took a bit less time and was a little harder for me to judge because it required a lot of backtracking and exploring earlier, locked options. There is a good chunk of additional content including extra stories, two non-canon endings, and a Revelations Mode- which adds additional comments and scenes to the main game.

Even though the game is a horror title where you are pretty much forced to die and get Bad Ends, the game seemed remarkably friendly to me- after every Bad End, there's an optional Hint Corner that will nudge you onto the right path if you're somehow lost, or will provide a little bit of joking around even if you're not. The game also has a Flow Chart, which allows you to jump back to any scene or choice easily, so I rarely had to even utilize the save feature unless I needed to quit the game in the middle of reading a new scene.

The setting of the game reminds me of Higurashi crossed with the Zero Escape series, though there are no puzzles to solve except for occasionally collecting information from a dead end which allows you to get past a different dead end, and then a mop-up where you'll need to explore some side paths in order to unlock the True Path. If you want to complete the story, you'll need to play all the paths- they are unlocked sequentially.

I found the story intriguing- but if you go into it thinking the game is about the classic werewolf monster, you may be disappointed. It's based more off of a game called Werewolf (not the RPG) or Mafia, and if you happen to have read the manga called Doubt, it's similarly based on the same concept.

I was very fond of the main character, who was not the typical male visual novel lead- he's clever and manipulative instead of being hot-blooded and hasty. Most of the time, I felt like he was as smart or more smart than the reader, so you're not left groaning at him making bone-headed decisions or not catching onto things. He's snarky and will comment on any sort of cliches he comes across and that sort of attitude also contributes toward the tone of the game staying somewhat light even though there is lots of death and suffering to be found.

I thought, in fact, the whole cast was pretty strong, especially considering there are sixteen characters counting the protagonist- I ended up caring about more people than I thought I would. Taking everything into account, I thought the whole game was well-plotted, if a bit convoluted by the time all the explanations from the True Ending and the Extra Stories come to light. If there was another game in this same universe, especially if it involved any of the characters from Raging Loop, I would be excited to read it.
