I've find 6 to be an interesting change of direction for the Civilization series. The feature that makes it such a shift from the rules set by Civ 5 is the idea that cities will occupy several hex coordinates, with the resources in those hexes mattering a great deal. I liked this long term planning necessitated when selecting city sites.

I do not remember how much else was different from 5. So if you liked 5 and open to the idea of cities development being more complicated. Oh and cartoonier, moving board game graphics.

It's probably the most broadly appealing turn based strategy game. If you're hardcore into that type of game, there is probably a more niche offering to suit you. If you're not a turn based strategy fan, this game has all the flashy whizbangs to keep you entertained. A great game for most anybody curious to look.

I had not played MGS 2-4. They seemed like very very scripted wacky stealth games. This game is wacky, and if played straight through, would be rife with cut scenes. I played it slow, reveling in the side missions. This game is GTA: Rambo. You can just ♥♥♥♥ around, sneaking around Soviet army camps. Or you can play the story missions. EIther one is a fine option.

If you know you want to play this game you will. You don't need some stranger's opinion about this Paradox style game. You'll open dozens of menus to make decisions about every thing that goes on in running a mid-20th century war. Every damn decision higher than assigning divisional commanders will be available to you, or you can have your economic, political or mlitary decisions made for you. If you do that, then the game loses what makes it great. That being that it's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥' huge Paradox strategy game that will take dozens of hours to just conscript an infantry divison, outfit them and send to to their deaths.

I did not play Rare games, own a N64 or even like platformers. Let alone a 3d one. I didn't buy this game for me. I came in one of the Humble Monthly and I thought my toddler aged daughter would love it.
She does. The games controls, mechanics and quests are all more or less intuitive so I can progressing through the game to keep my daughter entertained, even if I don't know what I'm doing. The graphics are cartoonishly perfect and cute.

The short of it is: I played the hell out of this game in 2009. I didn't track the hours, but I was circling the 100% completion. Playing it again in 2018 gave me some nostalgia and this open-world is built on the solidly fun idea of Burnout. I made it about 10 hours in before I couldn't handle the flaws.
When the game gets dark or in nighttime, the grey of the city streets blends in with everything else. Coming to an intersection that I knew was my turn became a crap shoot. It already was a blind-ish process in the daytime. I also am infurated by either my inability to find the quit or restart mission feature, or the games lack of one.
If you're thinking about buying this game now and you never have, maybe look at something more recent. Maybe there isn't anything else that fills the open-world arcade racing game. I dunno.

I liked Deus Ex: Human Revolution and this is clearly the sequel to that game. If you liked that game, I'm betting you will like this one. It was five years ago when I played Human Revolution, so maybe I don't remember it so well. This one felt like a very very pretty version of that game. I didn't notice any improvement or negative changes. Maybe they were, but I can't remember.

I liked it. It was fun to observe the many ways you could accomplish a goal and try one, until you make a mistake and you end up killing everybody. Just like most Deus Ex games!

The game can get monotonous, but then again, what GTA-clone doesn't? Even the GTA series did. The game has a novel setting going for it: the fiery late 1960s in the Deep South, with a lenghty and amazing soundtrack to accompany it. It was also somewhat shocking yet interesting to see how far 2K would allow the bludgeoning racism of the time to be demonstrated. Boy there is a lot of n-words going around.

I'm a sucker for sandbox games, the 60s, the South and a protagonist that isn't a white guy in his thirties with stubble. If this game didn't have that, you'd have a bland GTA-clone. But it does have those things so I do recommend.

An amazing game from start to finish. The story has a lot of twists at every step of the game, putting you in suspense for the next clue that makes you doubt the intentions of the voices telling you what goals to accomplish. The graphics to me were stellar. It's not the flashiest game. The enemies are essentially three models with different paintjobs. There is a great deal of boring warehouse or industrial locations. I do adore the 1960s aesthetic to the production design. The weapons and powers have a little bit of creativity to them, even thoug I ended up using the dependable incapacitate then shotgun attack method almost everytime.

The only other caveat I have was the 20ish hours it takes to complete the man story. The game is incredibly charming, but I would not have felt the drag of it's few flaws had it finished a little under fifteen.

I heard good things about this game before I played it, really good things. They were all correct. This game is amazing. It is a perfect example of a unadulterated FPS action. It's exciting to play through it once, learning how to be an efficient and/or glamourous killer. I've found the greatest satisifaction in the arcade mode, which is a speed run mode where you are rewarded for efficiency and panache. The game's graphics also scale well. My rig isn't top of the line anymore, but it had no troubled even in the later levels when the screen was littered with enemies. This game is GOTY material.
