Game used to be fun. After more recent updates, Its a shell of what it used to be, and lost my interest entirely. Thankfully, I got my moneys worth while this game was in early access for a decade, even if I never touch it again.

This game is better than it has any right to be for an early access game. There is enough content here to be released as is.

I've spent 74 hours in game, and just when I thought I had done everything early access has to offer, I stumble upon something new. Even if I was to finish everything now and be content enough to stop playing, I'd feel good about this purchase for the price in comparison to the hours of enjoyment I got out of it.

This game has a brilliant sense of discovery if you go in completely blind like I did. I wont spoil anything because of that, but there were several times I discovered something new or figured out I could do something, and I'd get the biggest smile on my face.

If you enjoy animal crossing/harvest moon, this is a perfect hybrid that you'll get hours of enjoyment out of. I can't recommend this game enough, and if the current release is just early access, I can't wait to see what else is in store.

Downloaded game.
Pleasantly surprised it was under a gig.
Did first 3 tutorial matches.
Game proceeded to download 6GB of data after. (Took 4 times as long than if steam just downloaded it all from the get go.)
Got a bunch of free gems to buy packs.
Bought some packs with said gems.
Spent 30 minutes opening said packs.
Quickly realized you unlock timed exclusive secret packs for opening other packs.
Used gems towards secret packs.
Opened secret packs.
Put together a basic dragon deck by dismantling unused cards.
Queued up for a match, and got paired with another new player.
They went first. Set two magic cards and one monster.
My turn.
I play lord of dragons, flute of summoning dragons, and special summon two luster dragons and end my turn because they cannot defeat opponents monster.
Opponents turn.
Opponent proceeds to spend the next 4 and a half minutes pulling off a combo that gets their entire field filled with 2500+ ATK dark magician-related cards.
Opponent wiped my entire field with said combo, and then dealt over 8000 direct damage to me on their 2nd turn.
Promptly exited the game and uninstalled.
Came to steam reviews to read reviews of others having similar experience.
Reinstalled Legacy of the Duelist to play instead.

TL;DR - Fought another supposedly brand new player who clearly spent tons of money in-game when I had not spent a dime. They spent a year pulling off a combo during their 2nd turn just to one shot me. 10/10 - would uninstall again.

A game that defined a genre.

Just as magical as I remember.

The Legend of Mana does not hold your hand. Instead it allows you (the player) to discover everything for yourself.
