Just one gripe from an old guy who played tie-fighter in 1994, and x-wing before that:

I bought this game close to 2 years ago. I played it for maybe 30 minutes when I first purchased but realized I'd need to remap controls and do a good bit of flight testing before being super comfy with the game.

I finally got some time to do that today. Remapped Controls and loaded the next story-line mission. DID HORRIBLE, but passed. Bronze medal. Second Mission involved playing as Rebels attacking an Imperial Base Installation. After a satisfying bombing run on its outer satellites and its inner power regulators it was time to outrun the closing blast doors for escape. In this mission I did rather well and blasted a large number of TIEs while almost masterfully navigating the innards of the base.(Still got a bronze)

I was totally immersed: But upon leaving the exploding structure a fire / shield graphic appeared and obstructed the view of the blast and a damaging and directing force rapidly drained my shield when I moved anywhere but toward the extraction point where the game was obviously directing me to go. When this happened I felt disgusted and turned the game off.

I am recommending this game for my love of starwars and its flight sim games of the 90s, but in those games, you could fly more than 100 km away from your target and it still showed your targeting box and location on the hud.

In this game you cannot.
