Alright.. So overall i appreciate the effort of reviving this game. But there are some fundamental issues that must be addressed. First of all, while the music has some resemblance with Gothic 2, it's not a Gothic 1 atmosphere. It's too green and nice compared to the overall feeling you get from Gothic 1. Gothic 1 is darker, colors are blander and everywhere apart from the camps should feel unsafe. This was captured to some extent in the beginning, but quickly went on to become a very bright and standard RPG. Remember; Dark doesn't mean corpses and blood. It's about the atmosphere of the game.

The second, and likely my biggest issue with the game is the main characters. Our protagonist is not a wimpy gentlemen that sips tea in his spare time. He's everything but posh.. And stop giving him comments about every single small thing. Diego is a business man, but he's not a posh type. He's smug, witty, but he's not one to earn his fortune from being a rich man's son. The Diego you portrait is one that feels too round along the edges. These things are so important to capture, and honestly i'd stick with the already written script if you want to re-use characters we're strongly attached to.

The combat is a major part for me. But i think this can do with a simple fix. Make the attacks faster, remove the 3 points of attack. Use right click to block (should not work on animals), left click to attack fast, and hold left to power attack (like in Gothic 3). However the combat system should follow a skill progression where combos are unlocked with upgraded weapon mastery, like in gothic 1. And not a dmg/stat based system as they had in gothic 3.

Lastly the music style. Honestly try and get hold of Kai Rosenkranz instead. If not to use the same soundtracks, then use him to update his own tracks to ensure the correct style of music is applied. Gothic Music should have character, and not be like Skyrim where it's just in the background giving no real impression outside ambient sounds. In Gothic it's possible to pinpoint your location on the map without even having any visual feedback. I can tell you where i am in Gothic 1, 2 and most of Gothic 3 just by listening to the music.

Quick rundown of the pros and cons:

Pros:
- Nice graphics
- Decent attempt at Gothic music, but not enough character
- Generally the effort of attempting to revive our favorite game series

Cons/Feedback:
- Characters need to be captured the right way
- The world needs to have a darker feel to it. Less colorful and vibrant.
- The music needs more character, and preferably being made by Kai Rosenkranz himself
- The combat needs a simplification. We're not after an advanced combat system, but a combat system which progresses both in strength and animation. Remove the 3-point attack system as that's just tedious and removes the enjoyable parts of melee combat.

Awesome game which separates from the other survival games out there. Here you have a very good balance between story, sandboxing/base building and adventuring like I've never seen before. It has a very natural progression where new equipment is necessary to discover new places which requires resources and base equipment. A well balanced game i would recommend to anyone.

A very good game! Slightly grim for my own taste, but that's a subjective matter and can't take anything away from the game. By far the best game in terms of questing, dialogs and NPC interactions. Amazing attention to detail in every aspect of the game. I love that they took the step and making the game open world which really makes it more interesting to explore.

Very little negativity to take out of this game. My only dislike is the character building. I don't think the abilities you can learn are perticulary interesting (The Signs), and most of the upgrades in melee or general skills are mostly statbased which is not really something i'm too fond of. But i understand that you can't change that and contradict the lore.

My hope for the next Witcher game would be a change of the main character, and open the posibilities for different styles of combat. Introduce playable mages perhaps, as they are such a vital part of the game. Other than that, this is by far the best RPG out there at the moment. Worth every bit of your money!
