A cleverly disguised phone game think " Raid shadow legends" and less dark souls PvP,
I wouldn't waste time with doing anything until you reach level 20 in your class. Just stack gold. Many people are already cheating or have gear that will allow them to instant kill you. The current meta is to ignore all monsters and loot to pursue players that would be an easy kill for you.
There isnt enough variability within the combat mechanics to really form a complex strategy. Simply hit and dont get hit. The balance disparity is off of the charts.
I don't see this "game" having a lot of replay ability going forward. The game will be good for a month before the hype dies down and goes back to triple digit player counts.
Dark and darker did it worse and still managed to make a better game.

Just interesting enough to keep you interested. Destiny 2 has undergone many changes throughout it's lifespan. Each one becoming more of a shameless cash grab than the last.
The combat is problematic when compared to other games. The constant issues with "Ghost Hits", terrain glitches and ridiculous aim assistance will actually make you a worse FPS player. At the highest level, this game is more like a deck builder than a shooter/looter.
Most if not all of the best content is now gated behind paywalls. This game does not have any respect for the money you spend on it. For instance, I cannot use the in game currency "Silver" to purchase the current expansion (something you could do for the previous expansions). So now I am sitting on a bunch of silver I purchased for the purpose of getting future expansions.
