Both a triumph and a revolution for the simulation genre. Though there are minor aspects of realism sacrificed for the sake of playability, namely the third-person (third-goat?) view, the game as a whole pays stunning attention to the finer details of daily goat life. The controls are slick and intuitive, making licking, bleating, and headbutting a straightforward matter. Of course skill will allow you to perform more complex goat actions such as mid-air flips and other such acrobatics for which the graceful goat is so well known. However, it is my opinion that the game's brilliance is most evident in the masterfully wrought storyline. You begin the game as a young goat living in a peaceful neighborhood, but destiny calls you from beyond the low-lying fence of your grassy yard. From the game's outset, you have control of the story. In true RPG fashion, you are allowed to explore the massive open-world sandbox and forge your own legacy. Will you follow in the footsteps of the great Michael Bay? Will you become a notorious outlaw? Perhaps explore the upper reaches of the stratosphere for the good of goat-kind? Will your ambitions lead you to the arena to defeat your enemies in single combat? Maybe you will become one with the darkness and serve the Blood Goat. Or perhaps you shall rise to prominence and power as the lord of all goats: The Goat King. The possibilities are endless. If you are one of the many people around the world who has yearned for a realistic and satisfying goat experience, then this game may just be the very thing that brings peace to your soul. 10/10
