It's very entertaining. I'll describe it as a comedy hardcore 3rd person shooter with emphasis on comedic violence. Imagine yourself in a 80s action movie only better graphics & acting. Can it get frustrating? It sure can until you understand that dying is part of the fun & everyone does it, death is unavoidable, only you die in such dramatic & cinematic ways that its actually pretty cool. I've only ran into one player that took things to seriously & I wouldn't call him toxic, more like an old guy that needed sleep & was a bit too grumpy for my delicate constitution or some crap like that. This game wears the ♥♥♥♥♥ out of me though. Just get it, its cheap & 100 times better than it should be. Now get out there & protect super earth & our way of life . Spread managed democracy to all humans, bugs, bots or what ever you come across & if they complain, send a 500kg down on there ungrateful butts if they have one & take cover helldiver. Report for training!

If American Civil War history is something you're interested in then this game is the only way to get a sense of that war from either side, sometimes a little to real. Its much better than only reading about the great struggle you can participate in it. Don't expect fast action cause a musket is heavy & the single shot muzzle loader takes a minute or so reload. If you're on the union side & lucky you may draw a sharps breach loading carbine. You do get different experiences from each faction, north or south. You gotta try them both but beware his was 1865 or so & morality among other things was at a very different place then & some players take role playing more serious than others. That's pretty cool to step back in time. The devs have done miracles with bug squashing & map & level design. It's beautiful & runs well these days. No lag since the last update for me anyway. It's living history today.

I'm only at 111 hrs in the game but I can tell you that Squad is one immersive experience that stays with you for a minute. If you're looking for a modern shooter that's more of a hardcore, squad based immersive game than what you are probably use to, then the question isn't should I buy it but when will I buy it. Good luck with that & we hope to see you (in my sights lol) on the battlefield. (Be sure to check out the minimum pc requirement specs before buying) Don't buy it if your potato won't play it. Cya.

The game not only looks fun, it is fun with beautiful & cinematic visuals with a photo option that does way more than a screenshot. The combat mechanics are well thought out, meaning that 3rd person for me always feels awkward & this game has the least awkward to me. I'm getting use to it though. The machines (enemy) can be a little horrifying at first, for instance, the size & sounds a thunderjaw can make is frightening butit can be killed. I'm still new to horizons but i'm enjoying the character Aloy although she told me that she doesn't care for being named after a precious metal lol. As far as I can tell this is a single player, action, story driven adventure of a game & its a blast to be part of it although i'm little late.

I only have 15 hours in game so i'll post an update after I had more game time however there is something that's obvious. This game is unique. It's unique because of the p;layer base. Some hilarious gamer's out there. I learned one awful thing about me tho. I CANT DO ACCENTS. I know, I'll work on that. Be back when I know more. Cya

This was a difficult game for me & that was all me. I owned ps for a year before I, basiclly for lack of a better term, grew the balls to jump straight in and get it going. It was the french dlc maps that did it for me, they were beautiful and pulled me into the game in a more permanent way. However I still struggled with the meta but with the hours put in the game I finally became meta myself. Joining a primarily post scriptum clan with their own dedicated server has been a huge benefit. The number one beneficial factor in determining whether or not I continued to play the game has hands down been the post scriptum gaming community. Doesn't matter if you have no experience or thousands of hours of milsim experience. If you want to be a good teammate & make a sincere effort then the community will be there for you. If you don't understand something, all you have to do is ask. If your a toxic ♥♥♥♥ then that same community will quickly show you the door.
All that being said, it's a way of gaming throughout the milsim genre of games. It's just ps excells at it.

Good luck on the battlefield.

As far as the available WW1 games out their. Nothing yet compares to the scope, sound design, melee mechanics & different roles to choose from like heavy mg or player controlled artillery. Sure bf1 has better graphics and destructability, & thats due too dices frostbite engine & they don't share that. The realism and gameplay doesn't meet the level of intensity as beyond the wire although bf1 is a casual shooter & not really in the same genre. Verdun is another historical WW1 hardcore shooter & a good one but misses the scope, depth & intensity of the great war that beyond the wire has accomplished. At the moment BTW even in early access is the only historical WW1 Shooter that you not only feel like you've been given a glimpse into WW1 but the devs have designed any boring elements out of the game. I never had as intense of encounter as I've had with the bolt action rifles. The sound & recoil leaves you with a sense of actually firing the weapon. The brutal stamina penalty will force you to think before running across the map & into battle cause you won't be able to hit your targets when you're exhausted. It's one part of the games mechanics that requires some thought & strategy on your part adding to the immersion. I have to take regular breaks from the intensity but play almost everyday now. So far the community has been the best in gaming with one or two exceptions. It happens.
It's a hardcore milsim that has some of the annoying aspects of some milsims removed for playability. Its not for everyone & its okay not to enjoy this genre but it's definitely one of the best hardcore shooters on the market today & its not even complete yet. Amazing.

Ive had the f2p version now for maybe 7 months & I have really enjoyed D2 as my casual get away from reality game only its grabbed me by the neck & has shown me what a AAA turned F2P can be, The PvE was my thing & it still is but the PvP events like Iron Banner & the regular PvP The Crucible have locked the game in. It's no longer just for escapism. I'm more serious about it now & find myself trying to get better weapons & raise my power levels up & completing a few of the missions. I don't like grinding tho & I do that. I can't help myself. That's my only grip is the grindyness of the game but that's worth it. The best part in my opinion it the combat mechanics...I have bad hands & they are in pain 24/7 but this game has the controls & mechanics so well thought out that I can do complicated maneuvers with little impact to my hands compared to....well every game out there. I'm still learning & hope to enjoy the game for a longtime. That's something since I still haven't spent a penny on it yet. I'm going to tho as soon as the world gets back to something close to normal. We lost most of our income lately due to city ordered business closure's.

I think I have 140+ hours in game and I still feel like a noob but its an extraordinary game. It takes a little time to adjust too. Dying is part of the game & as you learn the maps & listen (listening is very important) you learn where air strikes or artillery is coming in at. The devs & community maps are amazing. There's so.many maps that I played a different new map 7 or 8 timed before getting in a familar one. You have choices when picking a server & they're populated 24/7. Sometimes I can't get in because of full 64 man servers. After I bought this game I was so impressed that I bought Red Orchestra 2 & Killing Floor 2 because tripwire knows how to support & make a balanced game.
If you buy this game look me up if you have questions or just want to squad up.

I can't say enough about HLL. Some people give negative reviews for the simple fact that not everyone is a hardcore player & don't yet know how to interact with the squad, which in this game is something that needs to happen for 2 reasons. 1- It the only way to win, 2- I amplifies the fun factor by 20. 1st off find a squad with a Squad Lead cause without one you will find yourself aimlessly wondering around the battlefield. Its ok if that happens but try to hook up with squad to fight with. This game is intense combat & you need situational awareness. Being in a squad helps that. I know, I was one & was lost during the last beta. I finally got in a squad & while I was already lovin it, It became the best total war ww2 sim I've played. There's one other I really like but its a whole different animal & I don't mention other games in another games review section. One of the best things about this game is the total immersion & simple to learn & setup key bindings. Its easy to get started in but expect to be killed over & over until you gain some map awareness & you will. This is a WW2 large scale total war milsim & I consider it the best so far in 2019. They have work to do & its expanding. Read the Road Map.
This game is not like Battlefield 5 by any means, if it was I wouldn't be here now. I tested the alpha when bf5 was pretty good, not now. I recently left the game. So go pick this game up, then squad up & I'll see you on one of the battlefields. Maybe we can find a good squad together.

Important note: You have to have a mic in order to communicate. Its important.
Hell Let Loose gets 5 stars & a golden duck. Which is the highest honor I can bestow.
