Great game, absolutely love it, probably my favorite of all time.

But wow the new UI is SO bad in SO many ways.

Most of the great short story horror writing giving lore the the world was removed, as was a lot of the original art and drawings. Even the hand designed after-match cards are a lot harder to access, the perk art barely visible, and lot of the original art design elements that gave depth to a game that is at it's bones just another extraction shooter.

Changed a PREMIUM currency armor's complete aesthetic months after I bought it, it's now UGLY as all sin. A bunch of armors still have clipping and mesh issues, but they prioritize forcibly adding dumb stickers on armor instead? That kind of change should come with an armor customization option update, not be arbitrarily force on players. The devs have previously stated that they will not change armor passives to better match the armor because that would be unfair to people who have already bought it, then they forcibly change a premium currency armor? How is that fair? How is that consistent? Who's making these decisions?

Speaking on consistency, the flamethrower. Enemies with heavy armor are now immune to damage from it, yet helldivers with heavy armor are not. Enemy flamethrowers can pass through walls, other entities, and objects. Helldivers flamethrowers can not. They nerfed it HARD saying they wanted the flamethrower to be more realistic......how is making a GAS based weapon act like a physical projectile realistic? The whole point of it is that in engulfs enemies in fire, it's not a physical projectile weapon. It makes about as much sense as deciding that "TO BE MORE REALISTIC WE'VE DECIDED TO MAKE IT IMPOSSIBLE TO WALK THROUGH OXYGEN BASED ATMOSPHERES, BECAUSE EVERYONE KNOWS GAS ACTS LIKE A SOLID OBJECT"

Their balance design team has quite literally a history of killing other games with the worst decisions in the gaming industry, and for every step forward they take 5 back then verbally abuse players on the discord that dislike the changes. Only thing that's saving this game is firing the balance team, AH has plenty of money, please just hire someone competent. Your current team literally doesn't even know the difference between a SOLID, LIQUID, or GAS. I got a 9 year old niece that does.

Same repetitive areas, poorly written dialog, robotic NPCS, a myriad of uncompleted game system (fuel and armor stats literally mean nothing) and a game that is supposed to focus on exploring has the worst exploration of any Bethesda game. The game punishes you for exploring by giving you the same dozen set pieces that are identical. Besides the light engine everything in the game feel dated.

Probably one of the best remakes of all time, if it didn't have some stutter and crashing issues it'd be pretty perfect.

1. Pretty faithful to the original while expanding on some things such as story of the crew, Nicole, the weapon upgrade system and adding some new areas,

2. Massive improvement in object/corpse permanence. You can take explosive canisters etc. from one end of the ship to the other without them disappearing like in the old game. Slain enemies will be where they died well after you have left the area.

3. AI controls sounds, lights, and enemy spawns that are unpredictable and really mix up your each playthough. Unlike the 1st game you're no longer safe when you backtrack levels and even if an enemy doesn't spawn the light/sound FX will keep the tension. Good mix of static spawns as your progress through the story and random spawn when you retread ground.

Buggy, unfinished, and missing core features that were promised. Enemies will literally sometimes pop-in right in front of you. Huge Vermintide 2 fan, but the state of release for this game is borderline criminal fraud.

Great example as games as a work of art, from the recreation of the original Alien movie, to audio design, just superb. Alien without referencing any of the sequels, just the pure vibe and design of the original Alien movie, but instead of taking place on an isolated ship with few people, the "movie" plays out on a station of thousands.

Early Access Review
Save your money for the deluge of "Battle Royal" spin-offs to come (Imagine a MGS:V BR mode). You've no doubtly heard of the developers introducing paid crates after explicitly saying they wouldn't. This is just the small tip of the iceberg of a company run by a 20 year old youth, this and other examples such as multiple broken promises on "definate release dates" and weird development tangents such as a co-op zombie mode all point to a couple of kids who have no idea what they are doing. There actions show that they are now priotizing monitization on a game that's not even halfway developed over production of the game itself and trust to its customers. By the time this game is finsihed (if its finished) we'll have quality adaptaions by AAA companies, companies who don't lie to their customers. Let BlueHole know that failing to keep your promises to your customers if one of the first ways to fail as a buissness. There is almost no chance that these kids will use the money gained in EA in an efficent, productive, and honest way, if BlueHole doesn't go bankrupt from poor finincial and developmental decisions within a couple years I'll be in disbelief.
