I will admit i was very skeptical when buying this. I usually try to stray away from games like this. But i wanted to know what all the buzz was about. So i picked it up on the Steam summer sale because it was super cheap and i couldn't pass up a great deal. Another thing i will admit about this game is on the first day you will be racking your brain trying to figure out what the F*** is going on and what you did wrong. But if you continue on and understand how the game works, then you will find that Papers, Please is a surprisingly addicting game. Although there is one major throwback to me. I've went through plenty of levels (they're called "Days" in this) without getting a single mistake and yet at the end of the level when you get your money you hardly have any choice at all between 1)giving your wife/child/uncle medcine 2)heat bill (never do that it takes up a lot of money) or other things. It's almost as if the game never gives you a break with your money troubles even if you do make no mistakes on a single level. But in a way i guess that would actually make sense in a historical kind of way because back then in those times, especially the '40's it didn't matter if you had a high paying job or not because the standard of living was higher and more exspensive back then, in which Papers Please really relates to. Overall i do recommend this game to all people, if you find yourself skeptical like me, then just do what i did and pick it up at a sale. In my opinion $10 is asking a little too much even if the game had a story mode and wasn't endless. That's really all i have to say about Papers, Please except it's really fun and a game that should be played by a lot of people.

Where do i start with this gem? I remember this being on the PS2 but i never tried it before. All i remember saying is it's like resident evil and silent hill. Well those people were right, and at the same time i think that this game is actually more fun than silent hill and above par with resident evil code veronica; considering that they both came out about a year or two apart.
Here is my list of pro's and con's:
Pros:
+PANTIES (in some places if your going up stairs and open a door you can see the girl with the short shorts panties (can't remember her name at the moment)
+Great soundtrack
+Nice graphics for its time
+Smooth controls (unlike RE code veronica and Outbreak)
+Gives you plenty of ammunition
+The party system. i absolutely loved this about Obscure. I liked having two people and being able to control them and customize and give them shotguns, pistols, even a laser gun(very useful)
+Nice replayability since you unlock a lot of stuff if you beat it on normal (i suggest beating on normal since if you don't you probably won't unlock anything on easy)

Cons:
+I can only think of two cons. One is sometimes the camera angles will fall to your advantage.
+And two the dreaded hallway of falling, which makes it hard not to fall because your partner can be a dumbass sometimes (you'll know it when you get to it)

This game is great! $20 even better. Luckily i got it on sale for $10. But anyways i had great expectations going into this and this game SURPRISED me even more as i played along further and further. The visuals are awesome, cutscenes are great to watch and relax after killing some enemies. The graphics are really good. I like the campfire system and how you can upgrade your weapons. Another thing i like a lot is that your weapons are constantly changing appearance (if you find the parts) and i like change. This game also had a very strong resemblance to The Last of Us and in my opinion The last of us wasn't near as good as Tomb Raider (i've played both games all the way through). All i can say is this game will blow away your expectations and if you think otherwise go back to your Gay of Duty.
