Alkimia Interactive, the it cook. Don't pull it out of the oven till it's done.
The character model is not doing it for me. Try and take the model as closer to the character fro the originals as possible.
Make sure to polish so that it works good on most machines.
You will only have a successful remake if you mange to hit the same feeling the original had.
At first glance you have improved over the first demo but you still have ways to go.
My advise ? Keep releasing demos and listen to the feedback.

I have the DLC in my library because I got the most expensive version of Starfield when it came out ( I know, I'm an idiot )
I will not install it , I will not be a part of the number of players shown in the graphs that are playing this subpar mediocre piece of entertainment that was regurgitated from a developer that has failed to deliver on the expectation of it's fans for the last 10-13 years. Hope Microsoft shuts you down Todd because we are fed up giving our hard earned money to scammers (because that is exactly what you are). You might have already taken my money for this game Bethesda but you most definitely aren't going to get anything from me in the future. If there is an upside to the whole inflation is that consumers are voting with their wallets more attentively.

Wait for DENUVO to be removed from the game.
Can't recommend the game in the state that it is now.
They did patches for the DEMO so it would run smooth and when it came to the full game it runs in 20 - 30 FPS at times.
My rig was able to run Black Myth WuKong at high with over 60 FPS and I can barely run this game at 40 FPS ?
I saw that this issue is because of DENUVO. If that is the case then Square Enix better prepare themselves for a wave of review bombs because crippling a single player game at release in this way won't win you any points.

21 September 2024 Update : Was able to stabilize the game at a solid 60 FPS with the MODS that came out , because in this day and age of digital products and fast internet we need to rely on the quick thinking of the community to fix our game ( looking at you Todd ) .
Anyway , not that I can play the game without raging from 10 to 10 seconds let's speak about the game itself.

The story : this time round is more mature ( I think this is the first Final Fantasy game with a mature rating ). They swear, they show blood, torture, discrimination , all the best sides that humanity has to offer. I see inspiration from the game of thrones and vikings series. The story at it's core is not bad or good, it's good enough to get you trough the game ( at the moment of editing this review I haven't gone trough the whole game but the pacing was consistent till now ) .
This is not an open world game, it's more of a semi open world with bigger hallways to run around in fighting mobs that respawn when you reenter an area.

Combat/game-play : I have mixed feeling when it comes to the combat. They went for more of a devil may cry approach to it this time round. There are no traditional combos mind you , meaning combinations of light and heavy attacks , you have your sword attack that is one button , and you combine this with spells/moves ( that have different cooldown times ) that you unlock throughout story progression and these spells are also attached to 2 different buttons. You have your standard dodge button, dash button and lunge button and that's it. You attack with your sword, use a spell/move , attack some more , use the other spell/move , dodge attacks, if you dodge at the last moment you get to repose and attack the target for a little bit of damage. It's not a complicated system taking in account the fact that they provide you with a peace of gear that will do these combos for you if you don't want to learn the combat mechanics or if you are a "game journalist" and don't have the the abilities to learn.
You should also know that this is the type of game that start slow at the begging ( it caters to a particular kind of audience that take things slow ) , the game opens up more and more the as you play it. You get introduced to new mechanics like hunting rare monsters or interesting side quests a couple of hours in to the game ( you have some side quests at the begging too but those are fetch quests 5 meters apart from each other ). And the exploration gets better when you get the option to ride the mount ( it's slow and annoying without it , you really appreciate the acquisition of a mount )

Graphics: visually it's a eye pleasing game but there are already visual mods out that make it better looking.

Audio : if you played past final fantasy games you should already know what to expect. The orchestra style music is present here as well and it fits the theme.

So , taking in account all of this my personal score for this game would be a 6.5 / 10.
It's an enjoyable game , it has it's ups and downs. It's a game first made for the Final Fantasy fans that wanted more of a mature entry in the series but an enjoyable action RPG.
My advise is to wait for it to drop in price and pick it up then. Play it on a rainy season when you are more likely to get past the occasional cringe dialog ( it's still a Japanese game, you should expect it ) and the slow pacing of the story.
Also , the game on PC will be much better when the mods start appearing. At the moment of writhing this review not a lot of visual mods have come out. It seems to me they kind of went out of their way to cover up the females ( I have no problem with that but you expect something else when you play a JRPG when it comes to female characters so take that in account )

Great game. An example of how an action game should be.
The difficulty is not too high to make you give up but not too easy to become boring.
The pacing of the game is fair and keeps you motivated to play.
The mobs , mini bosses and big bosses are unique and don't repeat ( not visually or mechanically )
Great plus that the developers didn't bend the knee to activist and that they made a game they wanted to make and we all deserved.
This should be a wake-up call for western developers. This is what we want. Games that respect our time, money and entertain us. Not the crap we keep getting from the west.

Can't recommend this game as it is right now.
The constant frame drops throw me back to the 2000's when I played Gothic 3 and at every 2 second there were frame drops.
The disappointment is more amplified because the last resident evil remake games that are in the same engine were better optimized ( I know those games weren't open world but that shouldn't concern the client )
There's something off about the why the game looks as well. I keep comparing it to the first game and to be honest I can't find the differences.
Oh and the fact that they did an ubisoft and added micro-transactions to a single player RPG doesn't help.
If they patch the game so that the frame rate isn't all over the place I might change the review, but as it stands this game isn't for buying on release. Wait for it to go on sale and to receive more care.

In the few hours that I was able to play the game I had :
1. Continuous disconnections
2. Bugs galore ( guards seeing me trough walls )
3. Not being able to log in to the game because of "Nebula Data Error"

And please explain why in God's name can't we make the civilians drop down like in PayDay 2 ?
Why must I take every civilian one by one as shield and put them down and then zip-tie then ?
You got rid of the stealth bar that was in PayDay 2.
I can't start a game solo , I have to match-make and I get infinite searching for games.
An many other problems.
You should be ashamed of the way you released this game Starbreeze.
But what can I expect from a game's company that will release DLC's after DLC's to mik the game ?
Fix you damn mess Starbreeze.

This is a Bethesda game in space. You go from load screen to load screen to speak with NPC's.
As the game is right now I advise to wait for patches and of course the mods.
This game will live and die by the mods it will get.
Can't recommend the game at this point in time. I got bored of the same enemies , same bases, same caves.
I didn't have high expectations from Todd ( "don't believe his lies" but damn, they managed to bore me and make me start another playtrough of Baldur's Gate 3 ( a game in my opinion that deserves our time and money )
