Recommending based on the game play and enjoyment I've personally had but i don't think this is for everyone.

My Opinion is based on playing through all of the content including PvP to maximum rank and veteran level 25, all operations classes level 25 with full relic weapon sets unlocked, 100% achievements done and all cosmetic unlocks unlocked within my current play time.

The TLDR; I feel that i got more than my money's worth and have no real complaints.

The combat is enjoyable as well as satisfying though some enemies do feel slightly 'spongy' on the highest difficulty to damage for the type of weapons you are unleashing upon them.

The dodge and parry system is excellent once you learn how to time things properly, anyone complaining about never hitting perfect dodge/parry windows is just not experienced enough yet and should continue to practice rather than whine.

The campaign was a wonderful story but left me wanting a lot more.

PVP is a pretty bare bones and has only 3 maps but its fun when games are not one sided. Definitely something to build upon and for what it is, i liked it. My big criticism is that cosmetics can be unlocked in PvP as well as the PvE. I maxed out my assault class's cosmetics purely through PvP wins alone, but that is the problem - you have to win to unlock so it encourages toxic behaviour, e.g. people quitting a game early or as soon as they join cause they see a losing score. Either way, don't take PvP seriously if you intend to play for enjoyment or you might find yourself just getting frustrated with the game.

PvE is desperately needing more content as the star of the show so to speak- granted I've played more than most people but 6 operations isn't close to enough to really experience what a space marine could be up against. That being said, I've probably killed about 60 Hive tyrants and as the only real "boss" fight i very much like the fight, Just wish there was more Terminus+ level Xenos or Traitors to purge.

Lastly i want to address some negative highlights of which i've experienced.
The black screen saga - where you go to play an operation and you get a persistent black screen you can move around in when you should be loading into the thunderhawk. - to anyone struggling with this now, clear your steam download cache and it should fix the issue. I however suffered over 190+ hours of operations alone having this bug, with every operation i would launch having me running around like a blind mouse. I am not sure the Dev has even responded to this issue but i had no support and it seemed quite wide spread but did not make the list of urgent bugs.

Connection issues: Many many disconnects from the game server. Not nearly as bad post patch 3.0 but there was many moments where i did want to stop playing because i would not be able to smoothly play back to missions or Pvp Matches.

That being said, my experience is mostly very positive and im sure there will be much mroe to come in the future with how successful this release has been, love that they implemented cross play from the get go too, big props for that.

This game continues to get better and better with each patch. There was an initial knee jerk reaction on the release of the game which gave it mixed results between players and caused it to get crushed with negative reviews.
However as the game is as of right now, I would say those players that wrote this game off as a fail would be convinced to serve the holy Emperor once more if they picked it back up.

I'm personally completely satisfied with the carnage i can bestow upon the heretics with my Bolter and i will continue to play this game for thousands of hours. if Vermintide 2 is anything to go by, then the players can expect this game to receive love and care from the developers. 10/10 Fatshark, Glory to the Big E.

Updated review with now having 100% completed the achievements and the game on 7 separate completions.
Rating: 9.5/10

Developer: 10/10 perfect: Larian is probably the most gamer friendly company out there right now, this game was released complete, save for some bugs that were fixed or are being fixed which is totally forgivable. No expectation to pay additional to your investment and a very fair price to boot. Don't expect to see cash grabs here - these are good folk.

The Story: Perfect 10/10: You can really change things up on each new game, i haven't felt such free agency in a game before - Totally immersed in this wonderful Sword coast adventure. Excellent villains, companions, quests. The choice to pursue Good vs Evil is done amazingly and each brings so much enjoyment. You can be a dedicated white knight hero or even go as far as one upping the main antagonists with how dark you can take things.

Game play & combat: perfect 10/10: There's 1000's of permutations to the game, all kinds of different ways to approach challenges and puzzles. My tactician mode play through was some of the most fun I've ever had in a video game. Most importantly though, it feels like playing 5th edition D&D and i have nothing but the highest praises for Larian studios for being as true as possible to the rules and Lore and encapsulating that in this game. Almost each and every NPC interaction feels honest and important to the story with a dedicated cinematic.

Graphics: Great 8/10: Not perfect but immersive and great attention to detail. Act 1 & 2 feel a bit more refined than act 3. Nothing that stops the enjoyment of the game though. Was a smooth experience on my RTX 4070 regardless.

Complaints:
1. I want even more
2. I was lead to believe that all of Baldurs Gate city would be available to explore so a little disappointed upper city was cut.
3. Not enough achievements for the size of the game - i had heaps of fun going for 100% but i feel like there could have been loads more.\

Final thoughts: Hoping that DLC is introduced to expand the game. There's so much more than could be added, i'd personally love to see a 9 hells adventure or even more under-dark like Menzobarrenzan, Waterdeep & the under Mountain, Tomb of annihilation. Overall though i'm totally satisfied with the end product Larian put out, I've been a part of this game since early access and have had all expectations exceeded. This game deserves game of the year and I hope other companies follow suit with Larian's non-greedy strategy to produce a memorable and enjoyable complete game at launch. Buy this game, its an adventure worth having.

So far its really awesome, can't wait to play more. I love that the system requirements are not super intense and that there is an Aus server. perfect score would rate 5/7
