The game is a nostalgic "boomer shooter" with a unique mix of filmed actors, hand-drawn, and CGI monsters. Despite the labyrinth-like level design, which I don't typically enjoy, the game has a certain charm, and I had a lot of fun playing it. While there aren't many weapon options—melee and handguns being almost useless—there's a great variety of monsters. I played the original on 3DO, and this version is vastly different, comparable to the design shift from Wolfenstein to Doom. Some areas seem redesigned for the better. The game also features an interesting, though optional, story. You might encounter ghosts that replay events from the past if you stay still to listen. Make sure to check the map often to ensure you've thoroughly explore every corner, as missing just one can lead to frustration. I missed a small area and had to revisit the entire island at the end of the game just to find one last key item, which turned into a tedious process.

Best strategy game ever, defend the earth from the alien invasion. Destroy the threat before it corrupt governments of the world and push them to give in.
