Looking to scratch that HoMM itch? This certainly does that. The MC of the first campaign does seem to be a bit over the top so far, but there's nothing overtly wrong with that.

The first thing that jumps out about Lacuna is it's pixel art and music.
I'm only about 3.5 hours in as of writing this review but I am impressed with the story and it's pacing.

I do have a small bit of concern for having to do some little sidequests to help get some information from witnesses when I'm supposedly hot on the heels of a suspect however. While I didn't push the subject with any of the witnesses I feel like there was only really 1 choice the game was giving me to get the information I needed, and it would have been nice if there was options (and consequences) otherwise. Though like I said I may not have just pushed hard enough.

Be that as it may I still recommend the game based on current time played already and feel that it is most certainly worth a pickup.

Just a small look at it so far, but a very interesting experience. A little more hand-holding might be nice to start and somethings graphically don't make sense, Fishing in particular has a bar that goes across the screen that I assumed meant progress to catch, but... it just seems to be filler. After the the bar completes you sit there and wait for maybe 2-3 times as long as it took the bar to fill and suddenly you'll just get an animation of catching the fish. Keep in mind though that this is early access and small things like this are sure to be touched upon.

It's early access and can certainly use some polish, but there's definitely a game there. I'll be sure to check this out again after a few updates.

A nice little game with a good feel for how a well run tabletop rpg is run.

Didn't try it in VR but I think it would look pretty good.

My biggest concern was that often while trying to move or even select a character or action would end up triggering a different character or bringing up the character information screen. But don't let that detract you as it's something that should be easy for the dev's to take care of.

A hidden gem, this game is well worth the price.
What on the surface may look like a simple game is very entertaining and the depth of the Ban and Pick will keep you on your toes.

It's great for streaming as well with the ability to change character names and set predictions for you chat to 'gamba' on.

A ludicrously addictive game that will make you lose sleep because you want to just finish this 'one thing'. Will keep you coming back again and again.

Heavy mod support means endless opportunities for new game play.

It's a bit like pokemon meets a metroidvania a pokemetroidvania as it were.

The game shows great potential and very interesting mechanics. I left the game running accidentally overnight so my play time isn't exactly relevant, but I've pretty much cleaned up what's available in game at the moment.

Is it a good buy at this stage in development? I'd say so.

An interesting take on the BR genre, has some uniqueness that you won't find in other games.

The price is good for what you get.

The true successor to Master of Orion. Everything and more the game should have been not that.. other thing that's available.
