At this point in time it has everything I want in a monster collector/battler.

It has Watamelon.

EDIT: Given that Sony has is going to remove the arbitrary restriction for PSN accounts going forward the review is changed to recommended.

The game itself is a good amount of fun and is as difficult as you want it to be, with defined community and daily goals.

Several mining canary issues.

What feels like arbitrarily priced MTX and far too much of it. Game costs too much to be able to actually play it now that the core campaign is removed. Awful sandbox balancing because the teams aren't agile, leading to stagnant strategies and gameplay, and by the time they come you are tired of seeing the same 3 to 5 weapons. Complete disregard of PvP community when it comes to balance and map content. Balance based entirely around arbitrary numerical representation, and when things are balanced they get completely gutted rather than fairly balanced. You need to effectively buy the 100-110 dollar version of the new expansion annually to actually enjoy the expansion content. Asset re-use is starting to become annoying considering the cost of annual content updates.

I don't know what's going on, but I'm having fun. Does it have lore, I have no idea, and frankly I don't care.

"Free to Play"

If you don't spend money and you do all of the beginner challenges you will unlock 1 unit for free. There is at least one unit added per season, and the only path to unlocking a unit is through capital gained through the season pass or challenges. Or, you know, you could give Bandai just a little more money, on top of that money you gave to them for your recent Premium Bandai merchandise purchases, and get some monopoly money, that you can use to buy another unit.

Hopefully the game improves before the dwindling player count dwindles so low that Bandai just pulls the plug.

I can't wait for the Daban knockoff to this game.

The game is good until you need customer support.

They don't make em like they used to.

This has to be my favorite loot and shoot, and one of the few game I have bought multiple copies of, either for friends, or because I burt a ring in the disk.
