I really don't understand what people see in this game. It is extremely average at best boring mostly. Highly unpolished and repetitive with a weak progression system.

Unless you are a huge fan of 40k I don't recommend this at all. Even then you aren't really getting much of a 40k experience. The weapons may look like a 40k weapon but it sure doesn't do enough to make it feel like it. The powerclaw for instance is just you repeatedly doing the same two attack animations over and over again with little to no feedback. Not to mention how weak it is.

It's hard not to compare this to vermintide but considering the original came out after vermintide 1. I expected to be at least on par with that game but it's not even close. Given that the Enhanced edition came out after vermintide 2 i expected a bit more but I guess that was too much to ask for. Not many warhammer games are done well and this is no exception

Having played this with 2 player coop hard, its clear some of the design decisions in this game is short sighted at least for coop and hard

Pros:

UI is quite nice for inventory management of quick use of potions, food, purchasing and selling of items.
Melee feels good when it works (parrying for instance)
Ranged also feels good when it works
The game lasted around 10 hours for my playthrough.
Decently sized dungeons with multiple paths.
The 3 dungeons offer sufficiently different looking environments.

Cons:

More players = more enemies but its without proper consideration or testing. You will often get overwhelmed. And it's not just numbers. both melee and ranged enemies will often spawn behind you in ambush, they will also be spawning around corners or in highly advantageous positions far away. This occurs just about every time in the later 2 dungeons.

This wouldn't be as much of problem if it weren't for the fact of perfect aim ranged enemies who can shoot you even without line of sight to you. So if you are above them in elevation and you cannot see them, they will shoot up and hit you. Basically if they can hit you from where they are they will provided you have aggroed them.

One example is the shop in the last dungeon, for some reason the devs decided to put a hole in the wall of the building where you would buy some pieces of gear and multiple crossbowmen will spawn on a building on the opposite side of the road and gaining direct line of sight roughly the same elevation so they would shoot you as you are buying gear. all because there's a hole in the wall combined with perfect aim of the ranged enemies

On top of that, many of the enemy types can dodge your arrows. This does not feel good to play against because enemies can just physically duck and dodge a headshot multiple times in a row. This punishes the player for going for headshots as opposed to body shot.

So let's say you are now in the shop again and you trying to shoot the crossbowmen and just as you are about to hit them they duck and the arrow goes over them. This will happen many times and becomes a game of attrition. hoping they won't dodge the attack or you hit them as they are firing at you so they can't dodge.

Melee has issues when the enemies run up to you and for some reason you and your coop partner have hitboxes for running into each other but you and enemies don't so they walk through you. when that happens you can't melee them properly. Sometimes it looks like you hit them but then they block your attack. for example you hit the shield but its clear you didn't or they block with a sword but you didn't swing from the same side as their sword.

So the game becomes a game of repeated ambushes, running back so you aren't surrounded and shot by ranged enemies. killing all the melee enemies before moving to the ranged enemies. Peeking around corners so you can shoot/see the enemy before they hit you from behind. Hoping the enemy doesn't dodge your arrows. Now this problem is almost certainly exacerbated by playing hard and I would recommend playing on normal as a result. But this is hard in a frustrating way not a fun way.

The loot is fairly basic, just higher damage numbers. Variety of weapons is also very low as in dagger/sword and bow for archer. sword and board crossbow for warrior. You can get accessories but its just more numbers. Both can use shields but none of the gear is interesting or rpg like.

Puzzles are basic. Enemy type variety is low. Only a few bosses all of which is easier than the rest of the level. Buying potions and healing in shop in bulk takes a while as you have to wait for the items to respawn.

Overall this game needs work on improving the gameplay experience before I can recommended.

Edit: In response to developer reply, perfect accuracy on hard is just one of many short sighted design decisions and is just one of many issues with the game. Even without perfect accuracy, the sheer volume of ranged enemies combined with positioning and no requirement for line of sight still makes them hard in a frustrating and not fun manner

Don't bother playing this if you live in Australia or have a bad connection. It becomes a huge waste of time trying to get anything done due to connection issues such as failing to continue a questline because the npc doesn't reply to you for 10 minutes at times. Having delay on attacks is bearable but waiting for 10 minutes just to advance a quest whilst standing still is unacceptable and this happened to me and 2 of my friends at the same time.
