I can see people who love American Civil War history loving this game, but it has a looong way to go before it is even playable in my opinion. the concept is there, and i know this is early access but it should at least work somewhat. The User interface is the least intuitive interface iv'e ever seen in a game, and it is beyond glitchy and buggy. Fleet creation mechanics do not work and the replace commander interface doesn't work and constantly shows a blank page. I had my purchase refunded and will consider re-buying when progress has been made in the UI and mechanics.

I bought this game again after taking a few years away to let the developer make it playable, still not there, although I can see they are working hard to improve things. I played an additional 12 hours and saw a few glimmers of hope, just to have them dashed away from me. For instance, at the first battle of Manassass I was holding Sudley ford all day against repeated Union attacks. It was really cool how my outnumbered confederates were able to hold a choke hold with trenches and deployed arty against this attack, I even moved a division to the only other crossing just in time as the union brigade under Keyes attempted a crossing there also, only to be routed. This was all well and good as this brought the action for the day to a close. UUUUUnfortunately at the beginning of the next day the entire union army was teleported across the river between sudley ford and the other crossing, cutting my men off and nullifying my cleverly used choke points. So still glitchy and needs ironing out. Only now I cant get a refund. Anyways I guess I will keep it in my library and check back in next year to see if there is any improvement.

if you enjoy WW2 games and RTS games then this is for you, although be warned, its a micro heavy game.

This game is garbage... and not only is it garbage but steam is garbage for supporting it so ferociously and continuing to sell it at a price above ten dollars... do not buy this game... wait for the next total war, but I guarantee Sega will screw that one up just as badly. I was expecting more. The original Rome total war, as far as UI and game dynamics are concerned, is a far superior game.
