This isn't a very good game but it's fun if you only get into it with a friend (as it always is).

I'll begin with the good and quickly move to the bad.

I really liked the character design, it's distinct, looks really good and appropriately cartoonish, every character looks nice, polished and well-done. Pixel artstyle in the best fashion of beat em ups brings up nostalgia.

Soundtrack is amazing, I enjoyed listening it for most of the time during combat and for some tracks just stood in a zone for a little longer to listen some more to it.

The retro aspect of this is respectable, feels like a River City game for sure. The game isn't easy and I like it, it's a neat challenge, however there's a lot of bugs/features that make it worse.

Combat is good, sufficient amount of moves and combos, however you need to GRIND a LOT for those. The game isn't as fun when you don't have all these skills. In early game, If you're not a pro beat-em-up-er, get ready to be repeating the same process of running between zones / waiting for next waves to get money, not to mention that unless you're skilled or careful, you will be taking a bunch of damage, meaning you have to grind for hp items as well. The further you get, the stronger you become and more money is dropped from enemies, so that alleviates some pain, although enemies scale with you anyway, so you can be hit hard no matter what.

Invincibility frames don't always work. If you get down right on an item, when you get up, enemies can knock you back down if you pick up an item that is right below you even if you have invincibility. Speaking of that, you can either pick up the item or jump away when this happens, you can't immediately punch because you willl be forced to pick up an item.

Enemies can immediately punch you when they get up. Meaning you can't stun-lock the enemy like that. It isn't a bad thing specifically, but it happens virtually always when you try to do it, so yeah, don't stand near a downed enemy if you can't pick him/her up.

Recruits are unhelpful and poorly designed (maybe it gets better in the 2nd game). They can easily miss the target, because they appear to do a single move and then disappear. If they do hit, they provide so little help you wonder why did you even bother saving them instead of kicking em down for money. They disappear from you at random intervals between zones.

Accessories are next to useless. No significant or noteworthy effect on anything. Half of them are based on low chance anyway.

Parry is the most counterintuitive thing to exist here. After trying time and time again, I still haven't figured out how it really works. You occasionally parry when you're extensively blocking. You occasionally parry when you get hit. You don't parry 99% of the time when you're trying to.

Mechanics of climbing fences/ladders and multiple "floors" to a stage are weird and useless. Same goes for wall jumping. The only time that's ever used is when climbing a ladder out of a trash compactor and during a small annoying platforming section in a room full of toys. Every other time, there is no reason to use them. As for wall jumps, you don't use them either, and they do nothing, functioning basically as a high speed jump in which you *may* hit someone.

Characters are unlikable at best. Seriously, everyone is a different kind of a$$hole there. I may be missing a lot of story about River City (having only played it a long time ago), but I expected to like at least someone other the shopkeepers. This may be subjective but this is primarily why the humor aspect fell flat for me.

There's also a critical bug that forces a set HP value on you in areas which you entered with that amount. I mean that, if you leave the zone, restore hp, then return into it, you will lose that restored HP and be left with what you had when you left the zone.

Quests are bad. At least, Godai makes them better.

Lastly, there are no clear indications as to how to 100% a save file. Bear that in mind if you're a completionist.

In conclusion, I bought this game, thinking it was good. I honestly really wanted to like it, and I did at times, but not as much as I wanted to. It's not a bad game, but it's not a good one either.

I often use it to play while I watch something so it's perfect for that, as well as being a nice time killer. Great beats (especially so when you unlock a certain mode)
It cost very little when I bought it, I literally watched it grow and I am satisfied with the product. In a couple of ways, it's much better than some AAA games, I might even nominate it this year.

Low MMR - I recommend the game.
High MMR - I don't recommend the game.

I like it, even though you kinda do the same every match. The killers abilities are mostly creative and playstyle is different for almost all of them. Playing survivors is fun as long as you don't encounter a meta-perk killer that will camp the hook and tunnel you (chase only you until you die). If you see killer picking Black Ward, MacMillan Estate or Midwich offerings - Use Alt+F4 or Task Manager to close the game and avoid disconnect penalties.

I spent around 100 hours playing Hades after v1.0 came out. In 3 weeks. That's all I have to say.

After playing this for a lot of time I can say that this is one of the greatest arcades I've ever played. Combined with DLCs and/or mods, you can enjoy and frustrate yourself at the same time.

Probably the best thing about this is mods for the game. You can make almost anything a reality of sorts.
Starting from Popular Games to Anime, everything in it is changeable. Heck, you can even turn your baseball bat into a fish.
