I won't go into great detail many others have already done that. I'm only a few hours in and its just not fun. Early units are all paper tigers and your spending way to much time messing with faction and building. I'm sure there is a lot here, but what can I say its a boring and frustrating game.

Early Access Review
Empty shell of its former self, which wasn't much to begin with. Shame, the game had genuinely creepy moments and you could tell there was somthing that could be great if it got the attention.

A complete breath of fresh air. Alien Isolation is tense, stressfull, horrifying game that tightly keeps in sink with the original 1979 Alien. The protaganist Amanda Ripley is right in line with its original epic character. Tough, experianced spacer who may not be a call of duty hero with military experiance, but can think on her feet and use a variety of componants to make makeshift weapons and survive.
The Alien is a terrifying opponant who you cannot directly confront and survive. You must avoid, hide, sneak and distract it. To this end Ripley is armed with a variety of schematics (which you must find by exploring) to craft noisemakers, flashbangs, smoke bombs, emp grenades, etc to distract, conceal and avoid direct confrontations. The Alien itself can often be used as a weapon to clear out hostile human opponants or synthetic(yes crazy robotic psychopaths are on the station.).
Later in the game you will have weapons and items that can temporarily drive the Alien off, but you must balance thier ammo against usefullness. Making inventory manegement more then a chore but the difference between life and death.
These componants use many similiar resources, so you must decide weather to make a pipe bomb to kill multiple humans, emps to kill synthetics, med kits to heal or noicemakes and flashbangs to distract the Alien.
With the exceptian of a few very minor bugs the game is about perfect.
4.8 out of 5.0 stars.
