This game has always been one of my favorites. Whats not to like about carl killing nazis. Although its much better when its on sale at full price eh maybe not.

Pros:
The graphics are improved over SE4, just gorgeous. Stop and look around you have time the enemy wont hurt you.
Crashes seem to be less
I do appreciate the quick save button, this is something other publishers need to utilize instead of locking it so you have to repeat hours of play when you die.

Cons:
AI is way to easy on authentic level, its about 50% easier than SE4 there are also less enemies, stealth is not necessary just blast them all.
Story line is basically the same and it seems the story writers cannot get enough of U-Boat pens as they are once again front and center in this version.
Disappointing that one of the mission where you glide in with other rangers you dont actually go into combat to help the allied invasion could have been a real fun adventure battling with the airborne in Normandy.
The progression of leveling up is so weird the weapons actually get worse as you gain more and more pieces to your weapons. I left them on the first level and found little need to change them.
Picking up enemy weapons like the Mauser k98 an excellent sniper rifle can only be used till it runs out of ammo or worse has to be dropped to use any other weapon. This is not realistic.
Enemy snipers are too easy to kill out past their range they wont even fire at you but you can kill them.
Carl also likes to give alot of advice like "time to move" most of the time its not accurate, I wish you could turn it off somehow. Weird your inner voice giving erroneous advice and then you dont follow it.
The campaign has a shelf life of 25 hours, so plan accordingly. Not alot for your money.
Truly the worst part was the removal of the trip mines/booby traps for these schu mines ridiculous, part of the fun was making the enemy run down a gauntlet of traps you lay before them.

Would I buy it again sure I bought it on sale. I would not pay full price for it. Pick up SE4 which is better.

I own several Eugen games, my favorite is War Game Red Dragon. This was my first experience in this line and it was fantastic. However when Steel Division 1 came out they got away from the tactical sense and more of the rushing the flag. Games have objectives and you have a certain amount of time to get there. For those who like to plan their assaults and try to keep to historical tactics this is not for you. Steel Division 2 which is better looking than 1 plays about the same its roughly the same size with the exact number of units although less tanks. The rushing to attack just to keep the game going makes the game unfun. The AI artillery has to be removed from the AIs battle deck as its way too accurate and deadly. The ABC theme which can be modded out in SD1 doesnt seem to have a mod for SD2 which is a shame. Where in history does a attacking division go into battle piecemeal with its best units at the rear waiting around for someone to allow them to join the attack. I find it annoying. Another thing absent from SD2 is supply trucks that cannot replenish damaged infantry units, this was a nice feature in WGRD. Its actually possible for the game to end because of lack of supplies but this is rare as the game will end after a timer expires. In WGRD you could play total destruction mode game plays till one side is out of forces. Generally total destruction mode is played in all multiplayer games. This is absent in SD2 which is a shame. The game uses a line of sight that is hard to figure out since the map is 2d its hard to see where to put forces for maximum viewing distance. The AI always knows where to place its forces and seems to always know where you are at all times. I have seen the enemy AI rain down artillery on friendly forces so far in the rear behind trees that did not fire their weapons many times. You just know the AI is cheating. Everytime I try to play this game I just get mad. I guess I just want to play WGRD with todays graphics.

Whoa what a terrible game. This game made me want to join a cult just to get away from Far Cry 5. The good the scenary is fantastic, beautiful in all regards. It seemed smaller than past games and other companies games. The bad well its just all bad. The story is rediculous everyone on the planet could write a better storyline. Most of it does not make any sense. Both from a technical standpoint and a fun standpoint. The water is full of bliss common whats that all about its not even possible. UBISOFT has not yet learned about save games so anytime you fail a cut scene mission you have to repeat it over and over till you watch youtube and figure it out. The boss missions are full of drug references and rediculous. There also seems to be a problem with spawning and despawning one minute your standing there and an enemy or animal will spawn sometimes on top of you other times enemies especially in vehicles will disapear within in sight range. The music is really strange and it defaults in all vehicles to on making you have to turn it off but sometimes its playing on loud speakers so you have to listen to its cult message for minutes at a time. I think tipper gore should reserrect her PMRC and go after UBISOFT for trying to brainwash young people. In short its not worth playing even for free.
