Good game overall, game gets harder mid-way, but after getting good gear and build synergy, you can get way too powerful.

Certain mechanics feel too overpowered; Lethal hit chance, Burst count, Energize stacking, and Damage resist stacking.

Gotta admit, this game rekts u pretty badly when you're new and starting out. If you're starting out, go look for tips on how to play. It will save you alot of pain and feelings of unfairness. It may feel like the RNG is skewed against your favor sometimes, but I have had encountered situations where the AI got completely screwed by RNG, instead of me the player. I restarted many times at the start to get it right.

Eventually, I went with a ranged Mercenary Warband.. Slapped on a pair of pistols on my Captain with a halberd backup, and had 3 marksmen with hunting rifles/handguns, and a youngblood melee tank with halberd. Played it safe, always used high ground advantage, and choke pts..

Gradually my Warband got bigger and bigger, and My Captain and 2 of the initial Marksmen reached max Rank 10 without a single permanent injury.. I even promoted one of the Marksmen to a hero, and slapped a purple hunting Rifle on him. With quick reload, and rank 10, he can shoot 3 shots at 40m range.

My final Warband consists of:
Lord: Merc Capt(Pistols)
Heroes: Youngblood(Dodge/melee Resist Tank), Youngblood(Bow), Champion(Heavy Armor Tank), Marksman Hero(Hunting Rifle)
Henchmen: 3 Warriors, 2 Marksmen

There have been many casualties along the way, 50 missions attempted, lost 4 men to death, out of 28 put OOA. Lost some to permanently disabilities, with missing hand, and fractured skull.. And some guys miraculously have no debilitating injuries despite being put OOA 2-4 times. But I have not lost a mission yet, thankfully.

All in all, this game is great, if you like Warhammer Fantasy!

The recent wave of negative reviews is not without merit. FatShark should have listened to it's core fan base of players; players who have sunk hundreds & hundreds of hours.

*Huge Oversights*
1. Making elite level players regrind xp for lvl 35 talents was a huge mistake. It's basically saying your 30 (+100ish) levels don't matter, & we are gna take away your ultimate talent. As someone who took a 3 month hiatus of the game, hoping to come back when Winds of Magic came out & enjoy the new content, it felt like a big middle finger to me.

FatShark has thankfully seen sense, & reversed this.

2. Over-emphasis on stagger mechanics. Just why? Lol.. Hitting a clan rat with a normal attk felt like I was hitting a brick wall. I understand that they are trying to promote teamwork, & discourage solo play, but surely there are other ways to do this.

FatShark thankfully realised how this made the game wholly unsatisfying to play & removed the stagger resist.

*Positives*
1. The complete overhaul of all the talent trees have given players the chance to re-experiment & rebuild their loadouts. While I was initially unhappy that they re-worked all talents & made my favourite loadouts largely obsolete, it may not have been a completely bad thing. I am now exploring new ways of building my characters & exploring different playstyles. While some weapons are worse off, the less popular ones are also more viable now. While I know lots of players would rather desperately cling to the revered builds of old, there is actually fun in creating new builds that were completely unviable with previous talent trees. (e.g HAMMER TIME FOOTKNIGHT with the new Atk speed buffs is pretty sick)

2. End events are now alot more challenging and exciting. No longer the same ol boring scripted spawns.

3. Beastmen & the feeling of unfamiliarity. Fighting a new enemy is always a unique & fun experience. Esp when encountering a Minotaur for the first time & not knowing it's behavioural & attack patterns. It's like in a classical fantasy setting where the protaganists get ambushed by some unknown beast.

Give the new Vermintide a chance again! (:
