It's 2001, you come back from school. It's Friday, so you have a free evening. You launch Stronghold, the new game of the little-known company Firefly Studios. The game runs with 20 FPS at best on your Pentium II 233 Mhz. Sometimes it's 15 FPS or lower when there are more units on the screen. But it doesn't matter, the important thing is you can just run this great game on your computer.

And now, 22 years later, the magic returns. For me, it's a perfect remaster. No big changes, some small QoL improvements, a new campaign, new maps, improved textures, flying cows in high resolution, improved map editor. And integration with Steam Workshop, which already become a source of nice new maps (anyone else remember this site for original games? https://stronghold.heavengames.com/) And more FPS this time.

The finished remaster (looking at you Konami) with already announced updates for a reasonable price (looking at you Konami again). Totally worth buying. And already waiting for Stronghold Crusader Definitive Edition.
