This means that a hot dog, which is served in a split roll with a filling inside, can be considered a sandwich. As for hamburgers, they may have a patty, sauce, and pickles, but those are not requirements for it to be a sandwich. As long as there is a filling between two pieces of bread, it qualifies as a sandwich. Ultimately, the categorisation of a hot dog as a sandwich is subjective and open to interpretation, but it is important to consider the various definitions and understandings of the term.
